Flutters thought for a moment then looked at everything. She was trying to figure out what we could make. "Umm..what about I make hamburgers from scratch and poor boy as the side?" She started grabbing the stuff then goes "maybe a salad too." (Poor boy is small pototoes with onions in aluminum foil and cooked on the grill..its what my dad calls it)
(Hamburgers!? surely Flutters is vegetarian? Can't be eating all her animal friends! x3) Eris shrugged; she never was much good with cooking. "I'm sure whatever you decide to make will be delicious, it always is," She said, giving Flutters a kiss on the cheek and an affectionate squeeze.
(She wanted to be a rebel tonight) "I know what you are thinking" Flutters says, "I just want to try something different." She knew Eris was worried that she was doing something she normally wouldn't. Flutters then says out of nowhere "I'm gonna make veggie burgers not meat so don't look at me like that." She glanced at Eris knowing she was shocked at what she just said to her. "I'm sorry."
Eris smiled and stroked Flutters' cheek. "It's okay," She blushed a little. "You know I don't have a problem with you being assertive with me~" Eris was a big mare, she could take it. Besides, she thought it was cute when her marefriend acted against her usual character... "You can eat what you want to eat, of course you can. I just don't want you doing something you might regret just because of how other ponies are making you feel." She paused and looked a bit sheepish. "Not that I think you are doing that..." She didn't really think that was why Flutters was acting a little strange, but she wasn't very good at reading ponies sometimes.
"I just want to try something different. AJ said it's good and gave me the recipe," Flutters looks down. "I can't be mean to you or any pony. Even if I tried I would still feel horrible." She stared off in the distant for some time until Eris had to get her back to reality. "Oh..I-I'm sorry," her face turns bright red. How can Flutters possibly tell her that she was thinking of naughty things. She quickly put her head down so Eris wouldn't notice. "I think we should get going," she says while walking a little faster than normal.
"Okay. You're a good pony, Fluttershy, the best I know." Eris chuckled a little. "Although, I may be biased." They paid for their things, this time without any dirty looks or snotty remarks from the shop pony, and headed home.
On the journey home, Flutters was picking flowers. She wanted all the different kind she seen. By the time they got to the house, her basket was filled. She picked out three of them and handed them to Eris. "This is for you," Flutters says while looking at them in Eris hand, "I never seen these before." She pointed to the one that was in the middle of the three then glanced in her basket to see the others. The flowers where was almost like a venus fly trap, minus the closing they do, with calla lily middle. She was amazed that it was all different colors. (so venus fly body with the calla lily in the middle or I should say on top...u'll know what I mean when u look it up lol)
Eris looked at them and smiled. "They're lovely, thank you!" She used her magic to weave them together, then put them in her hair, just between her ear and her horn. "Hmm, now I'll have to get you something..." (I know what you mean; my Mum and Nan are keen gardeners, so I know a bit about flowers )
"You look lovely babe," Flutters blushes, "we should put the rest in a vase." She pulls out the only vase she has due to Angel breaking the others. "Oh no." The vase could only hold up to 12 flowers. She was a little upset since she knew she needed about another 3 vases. Flutters runs around the kitchen looking for something she can put them in.
Eris picked up the vase, and used her magic to make three copies. She put the original back where it was before calling to Fluttershy. "Oh look! I found some! Fancy that..." She had a feeling Flutters didn't like her using her magic sometimes, but she couldn't help it; she'd been doing it for centuries.
Flutters comes back in to the living room. She knew Eris used her magic but she thought she would just play dumb right now. "Oh goodness! Angel didn't break all of them! Where did you find them?" Flutters didn't want to argue over something so minor like that right now.
"Uh... in the chest!" Eris blurted out, before realising there was no chest in their house. She grinned, hoping Fluttershy wouldn't press the issue. She gathered up the remaining flowers and arranged them in the vases as best she could. Only some of them were upside down. "There! Shall we have lunch?"
Flutters fixes the upside down flowers. "You do mean dinner, don't you?" She gave a look as if she didn't pay attention to where Eris found the vases. She heads into the kitchen and starts preparing the veggie burgers and a side salad. "Oh darn! I forgot the dressing!" Flutters says hoping Eris didn't hear and also hoping she didn't mind no dressing. "Okay, so we have a little time to spare before I have to cook the burgers. Do you want to start the bird house?" She asks Eris who was hiding something behind her back.
"You do mean squirrel house, don't you?" Eris asked, in a slightly mocking tone, revenge for being corrected about which meal they were having. "Sure; why don't you go ahead and take a look at what we need to do. I'll be out in a second, I just need to, uh use the little draconequus' room." She smiled, and once Fluttershy had disappeared from sight, poured some dressing on the salad from the little bottle behind her back. Clicking her talons to make the bottle disappear again, she headed outside to help with the house.
Once outside, Flutters was busy building away. "By the way, we are making both," she said once Eris was outside. She knew she didn't have to be mean on how she said it. Eris was the last pony she ever wanted to fight with but something triggered in her. She realized she didn't want ponies correcting her all the time. Every pony knew what she meant, some times Flutters mind goes some where else.
"Okay!" Said Eris, brightly, not even realising there was anything wrong. "Do you want to work on one each, or do it together?" She asked, smiling at Fluttershy. She looked especially beautiful when she was outside amongst nature. She still couldn't believe she was with her.
"We can do it together. Remember you tried earlier and it didn't work too well," Flutters laughs then says, "Do you know how long its been yet? I have to start the burgers soon. AJ said 30 minutes in the fridge so it can get all the rich flavor."
Eris shrugged apologetically. "Sorry, I don't have a very good sense of time." She clicked her talons, and a gold pocket watch with a pink and blue butterfly motif appeared in her claw. "Here," She said, handing it to Fluttershy. "For the flowers." She touched the flowers in her hair, fondly. "Now then," She said, rubbing her paw and claw together. "What have we got going on here?" She looked at what Flutters had already built, and tried to think how she could help.
"You didn't have to give me anything." Flutters set the watch for 15 minutes so she knew when to head inside and make the patties. "Well, we have to make a little set of stairs for them. I know they don't need it but one of them is pregnant." She blushes and has a huge smile on her face. "Once its all done, we can eat and after we can paint them. We don't have paint but I thought I'd let you use your magic to get pretty colors." Flutters kisses Eris on the cheek.
"Thank you~" Eris said, smiling both at the kiss, and at the concession regarding her magic. Eris sat on the floor next to Fluttershy and spent the next few minutes trying to figure out how to use the pony tools. She picked up a saw, and with a look of great concentration on her face, and her tongue sticking out, she managed to cut out the pieces of wood that would make the framework of the stairs. She sat back with a feeling of immense satisfaction.
