Flutters starts laughing. "Oh my god! You will need a bath after brunch!" She continues to paint, only the other half to go.
"Oh dear, I hadn't thought of that!" Eris lied. She was hoping to be able to convince Flutters to join her again... She sat on the grass and watched happily as Flutters finished painting. She was certainly doing a much better job than Eris had.
"I think you planned it!" Flutters says. She knew how Eris can be but she didn't mind. "Yay! I'm done." She puts the brush down and looks at what Eris did. She was impressed. "Ready for brunch?" She moved away from the painted house and put the blanket down. Started setting up the picnic.
"Wait, we're having the picnic here?" Eris asked, surprised. "I thought we were going to go somewhere else? Isn't that the point of a picnic?"
"You know I still look good!" Eris declared, standing up proudly, her fur matted and multicoloured. "C'mon! Let me teleport us somewhere nic- different!" She pleaded, changing her wording at the last minute to avoid insulting the garden.
"Somewhere quiet. There's a nice valley I know just North of Canterlot; it's remote, there are meadows, a river... You'll love it, I promise!" Eris looked at Flutters pleadingly. "Please~?"
Eris sighed. "That was a mistake; I didn't know you don't like caves back then! It'll be good, I promise." She smiled reassuringly, and waved her paw around. "C'mooooon! Take my paw already!"
"Okay," Flutters says while taking Eris paw. Secretly she just wanted a nice area were they can make out. "Lets go!"
Eris clicked her talons, and in a flash teleported them and their picnic to the spot she had been talking about. As promised, it was very remote; there were no towns or ponies in sight, and apart from the birds in the sky and the creatures in the woods that surrounded them, they were alone. They had appeared in a flowery wild meadow, along the bank of a small river; it was one of the few clearings in the forest that covered the area, right up to the hills in the distance. It was a nice forest though; light and airy, nothing like the Everfree. "Well? What do you think?" Eris asked, looking at Flutters hopefully.
Flutters looked around. "Its lovely," she said and started getting the food together. "Ready to eat?" She takes a bite of the sandwich.
Eris was a little disappointed; she'd thought Flutters would be a little more enthusiastic... Oh well. She shrugged. "Sure thing, sweetie," She grabbed a sandwich and sat on the blanket next to Flutters to eat it.
"Are you mad at me?" Flutters asked. She knew something was wrong and didn't know if Eris was mad or upset. The hopes of Eris just being upset instead of mad were very likely. Although, there were times Flutters witnessed Eris mad and was always scared.
"Oh no sweetie!" Eris said, giving Flutters a hug. "It's just... I thought you'd be a little more impressed is all. I'm not upset though; it's not like I made the valley or anything. Besides, I'm just happy to be here with you~" Eris had gotten mad with Flutters a few times since they'd been together, and she knew how much it had upset her, so tried her hardest to avoid it. She'd never hurt Fluttershy, but the problem with being a creature of chaos is she tended to take things to extremes, and sometimes her mood could change very quickly. That, teamed with her powerful magic, made Eris' tantrums pretty legendary. She was not pleasant to be around when angry.
"I just know there is something wrong," Flutters says, "please tell me." She didn't know why she kept trying to get Eris to tell her whats wrong. Every time she asks but she knows thats just who she is. She believed Eris loved her for being that way.
Eris looked at her, a little confused. "What do you mean? Other than what I just said, everything's fine, really," She took a bite of her sandwich.
