Simply reading the article proves beyond a reasonable doubt that Trump is backpedaling on this. Trump went from calling for a "total and complete shutdown" on Muslims entering the US to making exceptions, e.g. Muslim military members. That is backpedaling from a "total and complete shutdown." If one wants to find out "what the hell is going on" regarding the menace of Islamism, one only needs to look to the actions of the US government. It has a history of propping up obscurantist filth in an attempt to promote its own interests (backing the Mujahideen during the Soviet-Afghan War, an alliance with Saudi Arabia, propping up various Islamist groups fighting Bashar al-Assad, etc.). The 2003 invasion of Iraq also served to destabilize an entire geographic region, and Islamist groups like ISIS filled the vacuum.
Okay, yeah, I'm done. I know you're not stupid, so at this point I have to assume that you're just being argumentative.
Well, he's chosen a Christian Policy Advisor, I think this sums up his vetting process. I wish I was making this up. http://www.rightwingwatch.org/conte...urce=fark&utm_medium=website&utm_content=link
Are there any other sources? I find it hard to trust a website "dedicated to monitoring and exposing the activities of the right-wing movement."
Ridley has a point. news sites from either side will often have a pretty deeply-ingrained bias. it'll take a bit more evidence
Or Canada, which is actually closer to what Bernie has in mind. You know, the country that's as a whole happier than the US. Well, one of many. It wouldn't kill us to learn from other countries, and follow their lead.
Actually, Canada has a lot of the same problems as the United States. They've got illegals terking jerbs, horrifying abortion laws, and the various drug and alcohol problems prevalent in any developed country.
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/World_Happiness_Report I know America can do better! We want happy people, right? We might need to do a little more than getting rid of a few Mexicans.
I'm not sure how relevant this is, but I find the fact that Trump is against illegal immigrants rather interesting. he owns a massive corporation, and such corporations often benefit from exploiting illegal immigrants by giving them less than the minimum wage. it's likely that Trump's does as well, even if he's not the one doing it. the lower level managers of his corporation almost certainly hire them for ridiculously low wages so that they can profit, which in turn results in profit for the corporation as a whole
I don't go to doctors, but that is one I've heard a lot. I've got pretty good insurance through work, and still, my co-pay on an office visit is like $250.
These immigrants are simply kept under an illegal status so they can be paid rock bottom wages for jobs that can't easily be outsourced. The possibility of deportation is used to blackmail these immigrants for various reasons (accepting low wages, not organizing into unions, etc.). The bourgeois oligarchy that owns this country also resorts to the classical divide and rule tactic by pitting white workers against these "job stealing" migrants (preventing workers from uniting against the bosses is the key reason for this). A $250 office co-pay is considered "good" nowadays? That's over twice my co-pay for the emergency room on my insurance policy backed by a union contract. I'll be happier when demographic changes give Hispanics so much political clout that taking a position like this will amount to political suicide.
Not my favorite publication, but a much more reliable source. Hmm... well, then... Okay, this guy's clearly about six kinds of nuts, but he's also (for some reason) well-respected in the Christian community. That's good for Trump, whose moderate position is being criticized by the far right and evangelicals. Exploiting them? I don't think so. The problem isn't that they're being paid less than the minimum wage, it's that they're willing to do jobs that traditionally pay fifteen or twenty bucks an hour for ten. Not only are they taking jobs from Americans, they're devaluing American workers in the process!
Illegals. ILLEGALS. IL-*squee!*ING-LEGALS. For God's sake, man! Look up the word if you don't know what it means!
Perhaps you should look up the terms "traitor" or "treason" regarding the Confederacy if you want to play this game of formal definitions. In the meantime, I will continue to be aware of how I have much more in common with a Hispanic farm worker (even an illegal one) than I have with Hillary, Trump, or any other politician or wealthy oligarch right here in "my" country.
because they have no other options. it's worse back in mexico! WORSE! they're desperate! they can't provide for their families with those jobs, but they're the best jobs available to them, so yes, it's exploiting them. even if they you think they don't deserve to be here, it is taking advantage of them.
That's the thing about a lot of the jobs the illegal immigrants have, they are jobs other people don't want or won't do. I don't see lines of people ready to take all the migrant farmer, janitor, and lawn worker type jobs that will become available. I'm more angry at the ridiculous amount of H1B visas that companies apply for. "We can't find ANY qualified lead java developers here (that will do the job for 1/4 the pay that the job should demand)! We need more H1B workers!" And those are legal. Those are hurting the economy here way more than illegal migrant farm workers.
Okay, so it's worse back in Mexico. How is that our problem? If we did away with welfare programs, those jobs would start to look pretty appealing, now wouldn't they? I mean, if it's a choice between slow death by starvation and getting up off your dead lazy ass, most people would choose to work.
