Judging by recent polls and how many states Trump's already won, his Presidency of America is very much real~ I don't know if that's a good or bad thing... :/
The chances of WWIII or a Second Civil War are incredibly remote. Even if Trump won the presidency and did something that would threaten such a thing, the government would find some way of removing him from office to protect its interests (the interests of Wall Street) as a whole. They could dig up "dirt" on him and get him caught on some sort of scandal. Additionally, a Trump presidency in itself has the potential to set off some sort of mass movement against him. Such a movement would swell in the event of Trump doing something dangerous, and it could be taken over by the Democrats to get Trump removed from office. Even in an extreme scenario, they could resort to a coup. But given that Trump is a crass opportunist with a history of "flip-flopping," he most likely won't prove to be much different than any other establishment politician.
Sir...When it comes to refugees. I think you should watch this. (Sorry if this sounds rude, but I think you are being very closed minded when it comes to refugees. And maybe you need to educate yourself.) Personally I see Trump as the type of guy to say one thing to you, but five seconds later stab you in the back. But honestly, I don't pay enough attention to politics outside my own country to be able to give a full incited opinion. I just wanted to my opinion clear.
There's a difference between understanding that there is a problem and having the ability to solve the problem. America has too many problems of it's own (including an influx of illegal aliens and refugees) to be able to deal with Europe's problems. I find it odd that other countries constantly tell the U.S. to mind it's own business on the international scene, and then try to present the European refugee crisis as the entire world's problem. I stand by everything I said in my original post. They're of no use to the U.S., nor are they our responsibility. I get that it's a pretty damned heartless stance, but sometimes you need to know when to put pragmatism above compassion.
May I ask. We were founded by immigrants. Literally, we are based on immigration and refugees from Britain's tyranny. Are we saying throw away the principles of which the country is based on? We were founded as a place to be free of tyranny, and to be a place of freedom. Again just asking. Not wanting anyone to become hostile. This is how I am interpreting this.
We were founded by conquerors. The first Europeans didn't ask the natives nicely to move aside and let them in. They took what land they needed for themselves, and killed anyone who tried to stop them. We were founded by people who put themselves and their own people first. History isn't always pretty, but we can learn a lot from it.
You're right. But a lot of what Trump wants to do sounds an awful lot like what Adolf Hitler did. Mass Deportation, building of a wall to keep people out, the "Atlantikwall", and ostracism of peoples due to religion or belief. I may be wrong, but there are similarities.
You're not wrong, there are a number of similarities. But look at what Hitler accomplished as the leader of Germany. In less than a decade, he turned an impoverished nation on the brink of collapse into a world superpower. Now, imagine what a man with Adolph Hitler's intelligence and charisma (but not his psychosis) could do for a country that's already powerful. Now, as for the individual issues: Mass deportation -Trump is simply proposing that we find and deport illegal aliens; people who are, by definition, criminals. Building the wall - Right now, crossing into the United States is as easy as wading across the Rio Grande. This means that anybody, be they a poor Mexican worker, drug smuggler, or Al Quaeda terrorist, can easily get into the United States. Building a wall is a way of protecting ourselves not only from an influx of unskilled laborers that harm our economy, but also from dangerous criminals that threaten our people. The Muslim issue - I've never made my opinions of Islam a secret, but I certainly didn't form them out of ignorance. Not only is Islam the ONLY major religion in the world that encourages violence against non-believers, the Islamic refugees that have been allowed into other countries have, on multiple occasions, repaid that kindness with violence.
@Ridley Wolf I feel like I've mentioned this before, but there are more Mexicans leaving the US than entering. http://www.pewhispanic.org/2015/11/19/more-mexicans-leaving-than-coming-to-the-u-s/ http://www.nytimes.com/2015/11/20/u...aving-us-than-entering-report-finds.html?_r=0 http://money.cnn.com/2015/11/19/news/economy/more-mexicans-leaving-us-than-coming/ I... do agree with you on Islam, though. It is a clear problem, especially taking a look at these findings: Spoiler etc.
Also we need to deal with the people overstaying their Visa's. Most of the 911 hijackers were on expired Visas and after all this time we still haven't done anything about expired Visas.
The number of illegals has declined since 2007. It's not a huge decrease, but it's clearly not skyrocketing either.
The fact is they were, the fact is there are still hundreds of people in this country with expired visas. The fact is there are people with legitimate visa (California's recent incident) who if they did they're *squee!*ing job right wouldn't be here. The facts as they are show that 911 could have been stopped.
Probably not. They would have renewed their visas and done it later, I'm sure. Nobody could have predicted that. Hindsight is always 20/20.
We say that it could be stopped in today's world. Though we should realize that if this stuff was enforced then, citizens would have had a fit, so it most likely wouldn't have been enforced.
Here's what I don't understand. Republicans want smaller government and lower taxes. They want things like expired visas, illegal immigrant deportation, and which bathroom you are allowed to use enforced more (more government). How does the government hire more people to enforce the (selective) laws you want while doing it with less money? Also how do you want more government and less government at the same time? I just don't get it... *shrugs*
Even if this is accurate... and there's really no way of knowing if it is... that's still over five million people here illegally, from Mexico alone. That's not even counting the Central and South American illegals coming in through Mexico. Now, consider why these five million people didn't enter legally. Many of them have criminal records in their home countries. Rapists, murderers, thieves, all living here under the radar. Many others are uneducated and unskilled, of no real value to anyone.
Republicans want a smaller, more efficient government. That means a government that stays out of issues that aren't important on a national level. The theory is that by cutting down on wasteful spending, there will be plenty of money to deal with the issues that are nationally important. As for the bathroom thing, well... Trump and a lot of other moderate Republicans are calling the laws a mistake.
