Agreed, which is why I think that it's absolutely critical that the order be written to ensure that it can't happen legally.
Fair enough, but I will point out that many tax-exempt nonprofit organizations are politically active.

It seems like Trump is attempting to revive the "culture wars" in various ways, whether it be in the form of brown skinned bogeymen from Iraq, Syria, Somalia, Mexico, etc., or pandering to religious obscurantists. Reality is going to bite sooner or later; Trump cannot fulfill his promise to square the circle and bring back Postwar living standards. Some scapegoat must inevitably be found to divert attention away from his inevitable failures (Bush's scapegoat was LGBT, Obama's was guns, and Trump must have his own). A steady dose of "alternative facts" is also being administered in an attempt to get people to trust their feelings over apodictic information that undermines the narrative of the Trump administration. It's little wonder why so many establishment politicians do not like Trump. If anything, he is setting the stage for an eventual, sharp swing to the left by failing to deliver on his economic promises (livable wages, restoration of manufacturing jobs permanently destroyed by automation, etc), in addition to alienating non-religious and non-white demographics with increasing political clout. Various "left" figures like Elizabeth Warren, Bernie Sanders, Keith Ellison, et. al. will also not be able to indefinitely derail such sentiment into "safe" channels (liberal "lesser evilism" paved the way for Trump in the first place). Sometimes an unsavory administration can do wonders to advance a process, even if such a thing is contrary to its intentions. ;)

It's still just a draft at this point-- one of many.

Yeah, I'll agree, this one is extreme, but it's also illegal-- so the odds of it being the final word are hovering pretty close to zero.

Donald Trump says 'any negative polls are fake news'
"I reject your reality and substitute my own"

Trump Is Attacking Any Institution That Challenges Him
“To announce that there must be no criticism of the President, or that we are to stand by the President, right or wrong, is not only unpatriotic and servile, but is morally treasonable to the American public.” - Teddy Roosevelt

Donald trump launches attack on judge who stopped Muslim travel ban: 'If something happens blame him'
Holy Reichstag fire, batman. This is Trump telegraphing an intent to weaken or abolish judicial power if (when) there is a terrorist attack...

Donald Trump 'didn't realise he was promoting Steve Bannon to National Security Council when he signed order'
Someone should slip him his own resignation. Be an hero.

Trump Just Declared the ‘Court System’ a Threat to National Security
Signing Executive Orders without reading or understanding them is a threat to national security.

Trump’s suggestion that the media is ignoring terrorist attacks traces to a familiar source: InfoWars
What a surprise. A mentally ill president citing from a mentally ill host.

Trump missed his main target in Yemen raid that killed 30 civilians and one US Navy SEAL
"one SEAL and up to 30 civilians were killed in the raid, including 10 women and children [one was a US citizen], according to medics at the scene.
Following the operation, White House press secretary Sean Spicer told reporters that the raid was a "successful operation by all standards.”
The new Benghazi. $70m worth of own aircraft destroyed. What was it that Donald Drumpf was so busy doing that he couldn't go to the situation room for a proper briefing? He was eating dinner.

Trump’s call with France didn’t go so well either

Should probably get President Bannon to do the calls with a good Drumpf impression.

Nobody delegitimizes Trump like Trump.Everybody says so. Believe me

    Good lord. Scandals galore.
If any one bad thing that this administration has done in the past three weeks, happened under Obama, Repubs would be ALL over that. Calling for impeachment immediately.
Now? Oh, na, it's okay, because we're not libtards. Flynn being a national security risk and now "resigning", and the NSA is withholding information from the so-called president.
I suspect Conway is the next to go, with her clear violation of plugging Ivanka's clothing line.
John McCain's balls must be on holiday. "There's probably something wrong here in this administration...eh, I won't do or say anything about it, though."

    I know..rantrantrant.
I'm preaching to the choir at this point and somewhat taken over the thread, but whatever, the proud ignorance and hypocrisy irritate me.
I wish I could be this interested in local politics, but it's so boring compared to the current state of US and UK.

Sidenote: With all the right bashing, I don't condone some of what the left have done, such as the Berkley University riots. As I've mentioned before, I may not agree with you, but I'll support your right to free speech. Milo is a dick, though.

Flynn *squee!*ed up. Flynn took responsibility for *squee!*ing up, and accepted the consequences.

While I'm not happy with the situation, I'll at least respect him for accepting that he did something wrong.
THAT'S what separates conservative ideology from liberal ideology, and adults from children, really; the belief in personal responsibility.

Apologies for the somewhat incoherent info dump below.

The National Security Advisor to the President claims to have simply forgotten that he talked to the Russian ambassador about the response to the biggest scandal between the nations since the Cold War.
We have to believe he is a total *squee!*ing moron or lying again.

He apparently apologized to Pence, on a private call, for making him look bad?
Well, glad that's all cleared up. Nothing to see here people, the man apologized! /s
He has not apologized to the American people.
More importantly what did the President know and when did he know it.

Lock the bastard up. It's not like Drumpf will actually put Hillary in there.

Hillary sends classified emails from a private server, and they investigate until the cows come home. Flynn and others potentially conspired with Russia against US interests, and no investigation.

Flynn is the fall man, there's got to be more people to it.

Even if that was true, I look forward to all the Trumplets' recognition of screwing the country over then by voting for awe-inspiringly *squee!* people then, as well as recognition from the administration itself.

Besides, what about the fact that Trump reportedly knew for weeks and continued to give him access to the national security council, despite him having repeated contacts with Russian diplomats?

I'm dizzy from the spin you put on that. The apologies are so disingenuous. They are not angry at what he did (which may be treasonous), they are angry about how he got caught (the leaks)?!? WTF!?!

Did anyone else see his news conference today... It was odd. He actually makes a pick for labor secretary that makes sense... http://www.cnbc.com/2017/02/16/trum...abor-secretary-is-a-slam-dunk-commentary.html
And it was all downhill from there. He was all over the place, going off on tangents, STILL talking about the election (You won, wtf are you doing?!?), blaming Hillary Clinton for things?!? Not to mention how now the content of the leaks don't matter, how they were leaked matters. He flip-flopped. He's a flip-flopper, he had the exact opposite stance when it was the DNC emails that were leaked. Then it was WHAT was leaked, not how it was leaked. Why the change? Flip-flopper.

Actually, he didn't break any laws. There wasn't any reason he couldn't discuss sanctions against Russia as a possibility.
The problem is that he didn't tell Pence the full story of what was discussed, either because he somehow forgot, or simply didn't feel it was important.
Naturally, it didn't go over well, and now he's gone.
Like I said, I'm not happy about what went down, but I'm glad the appropriate actions were taken to make sure it doesn't happen again.

    ***********************************************************************

Puzder wasn't a good choice. I agreed him on a few things, but for the most part, he wasn't a good fit for the job.
I knew going in that I wasn't going to like everything Trump did, and choosing Puzder happened to be one of those things.

I haven't researched the new pick yet, but I heard a few good things about him on the radio on the way home.

Don't forget that there are investigations are to be in place, not for the leaked contents, but the leakers. Classic hypocritical Republitards.

Despite saying before the election that he had 3 YEARS of Hillary investigations already lined up, Oversight committee chairman Jason Chaffetz (R, Hades) is declining to investigate Flynn scandal, and will instead investigate the leakers who exposed it.

I do not think they have thought their plan all the way through.
Instead of these people going into the bathroom with your daughter:
    [IMG] [IMG] [IMG]
    All above are transgender women.
Trump would rather have these people in the bathroom with your daughter:
    [IMG] [IMG] [IMG]
The three above are all transgender men.
Good thinking there Trump and the Republicans that also want this. Good job. :sigh:

My stance on the bathroom issue:

Transgender people use have been using the bathrooms that fit their identity for decades without issue.
The problem arose when conservative extremists decided to start up a scare campaign, and liberal extremists responded by demanding blanket acceptance of not only legitimately gender dysphoric individuals, but ANYONE who claims to be whichever gender.

I have no problem with the idea of transwomen in a women's room, because transwomen ARE women.

I do, however, have a problem with sexual fetishists and deviants in the women's restroom, because they are NOT women.
    It's really not difficult.

I think that the most obvious solution to this issue is for people to use the restroom that matches the gender on their ID.
The government allows people to change that during transition, which does in fact set a legal precedent for federal recognition of transgendered individuals.
This would ensure that the only people in the ladies room are WOMEN.

    Basically:

    This is a woman:

    This is also a woman:

    This is NOT a woman:

It's just... it's really not hard, people. For *squee!*'s sake.

(Let's see how many friends this post loses me, eh?)

    ************************************************************************************************************

For the record, I support ending the law, because it was too far-reaching and had the potential for disaster.
As the law stood, any man could claim to identify as a woman and walk into the ladies room.

Trump, for the most part, has remained silent on the transgender issue itself, but did make it clear that this issue should be left at a state level, not federal.
