[MENTION=5399]Ridley Wolf[/MENTION] : oh come on, don't be so harsh on him. On topic: somehow, I'm not very surprised with the synopsis. However, I can't wait to see another Discord episode. 2nd part sounds kinda expected and straight forward, however, The Royal Wedding episode in season 2 surprised me, so this could as well.
I'm really hoping that the big reveal for this episode (other than a new villain and whatever the hell "Rainbow Power" is) will be that Discord is actually Star Swirl the Bearded.
Spoiler: idw mlp comic spoiler If we look by the story of the mlp idw comic, that's quite possible. Luna noted do Twilight that Star Swirl the Bearded was more like Pinkie Pie in character rather than Twilight, which isn't very distant to Discord.
So, this guy seems to bear more than a passing resemblance to this guy. (That's the G1 villain, Tirek, in case you didn't know.) The fact that Tirek was defeated by something called "The Rainbow of Light," and the fact that we know the finale will feature something called "Rainbow Power" adds further fuel to the speculation fires.

No words can describe the epicness... It was much darker than I expected... I honestly can't even review this like I usually do... I knew it wasn't going to be disappointing within the first 5 minutes where the princesses all had the gorgeous and amazing song over 9000!!!!!/10
That was everything that I hoped it would be, and more. A powerful and dangerous villain, a real conflict, and a truly epic battle, all ending with Twilight finally proving that she's a princess in more than just name. And the songs... ∞²/10
Friendship, betrayal, DBZ fight, Discord's true reformation, LUNA SINGING, Derpy. This finale had it all, as well as possibly my favorite villain thus far. As far as being a true villain, anyway. Discord's still my favorite, but he was more chaotic than flat-out evil.
