So, you're suggesting that we change all the user titles to "Member" or remove them as in a whole? Looking at it both ways i disagree - If we were to remove the user titles people'd not know who's who - who's an admin, who's a mod, who's an ordinary user etc.

On the other hand, probably calling all the users of Everypony that have no staff position just "User" might be wise. Probably having the user title be edited by the users themselves is the best solution.

this was my idea (just that I used word "Member" instead of "User", but same thing). Also, costume titles are also ok. on ttff we have that system , and it's working quite nice (although there are position banners under your avatar that show weather you're member, adv.member, mod, supermod or admin)

I dunno I really like titles. I know some say that it is just some text above your avatar but I Quite like titles be them custom or fixed, they motivate me to post more and interact more with the site.

By the way, I noticed that there is an "Awards" tab in my profile. What is that?

Awards is just another vBulletin feature. Some forums choose to use them, some do not. Some forums like holding contests and competitions and use the Awards function to award winners with badges. Badges would be displayed on their profile and under their name next to their posts. They don't really serve a purpose other than give the user bragging rights and whatnot.

Actually awards aren't native to Vbulletin, they're modded in via 3rd parties, so the functionality can change from site to site, although of course it is a rather common concept. But yeah... ;D

How is this going anyway, the thread/idea as a whole?

Ahh... Ok, thanks for the clarification. I just always assumed that because I've seen it loads of times.

    Oh ok I see.

I think we should just leave the title issue how it is. I see no problem with it
