Speaking of propaganda: D'em old Soviet weapons Spoiler: And also a little example of the US nuclear arsenel + a few other countries
There will be no impact on the U.S. NK has every super power in the world staring it down. while I understand and respect the reasons NK would wish to wage war I'm positive a diplomatic solution can be reached. NK had already lost once. while yes they would be better prepared this time around numbers would play the biggest part. Bullets cost money. Famine that already exists would effect the NK supply. Super powers would cut off supply lines and they'd be under constant attack with SK neighboring as well as the DMZ. China being there and Russia hitting an open flank. It would be foolish to attempt an aggressive act of any kind.
Top brass just came out with the top 10 threats to the U.S. chart (It does exist and is not classified) NK is NOT on it.
You assume the missile will manage to leave their own country. It'll land about 100 metres away and maybe knock over a bin at most.
Whether or not you like or agree with the agenda or policies of the United States and NATO Allies, I think we can reasonably agree who would win if NK was dumb enough to actually attack the US directly. I personally don't think they are that dumb and this is just part of their very predictable cycle of propaganda and chest pounding. In fact, now that the yearly celebrations are closing, they have actually started putting away some missiles. China is still officially their ally and so there is no way the US would try to fully invade or allow SK to strike first, but if NK did do anything stupid I really don't think the Chinese would risk their economic power they've gained trading with western nations over some "ally" of theirs that frequently disregards their advice and keeps setting off nuclear explosions right along their border, pissing off the Chinese political elites.
You do realize that the "morons" you speak of is the crazy leader and that most of their population would rather not be part of it.
This is the saddest part of the whole thing - my heart goes out to the poor starving koreans in slums or even worse the ones in concentration camps... I really hope that something will change soon, somehow... The Korean War never technically ended, but the reason fighting stopped was because the US basically unloaded thousands of bombs upon the innocent Korean citizens until NK just stopped fighting SK... I would hate for that to happen again if tensions escalate.
Frost, While you're comment was supposed to be serious, you actually made my day. Back on the subject, as stated, we can't open fire. China, Russia, South Korea, AND JAPAN will be affected in any shape or form. Which will result in the following: 1. We lose a lot of allies, mainly China and Russia. I don't know about you guys, but I like the US to keep her allies. 2. We lose South Korea's trust plus Japan. All jokes aside here, I love South Korea and Japan.....not just because of the music, video games, and media. 3. The world will hate us even more than already. It would be sad if we're deemed as the big bully in the West because we can't think rationally. 4. What's that word I'm looking for....? Uuummm, ah yeah. PROTESTING. In short, can't do anything without reason.
A shipment of weapons was found stashed away and unreported on a Korean vessel, which was returning through the Panama Canal from Cuba. http://www.cbc.ca/news/world/story/2013/07/16/panama-canal-north-korea-weapons.html
