"Fine. I see Star, c'mon." Jessie walked over to Star's table and sat across from her. He pulled out a brown paper bag and placed it on the table. "Welcome to my lunch... courtesy of my mother..." He opened the bag and confetti shot out, covering his head. "And the show begins." He pulled out a sandwich, which proceeded to start crawling on the table. He reached into the bag and pulled out a small device. "Magic." He made air quotes. He grabbed the now immobile sandwich and bit off the strings before beginning eating.
Star laughed at Jessie's magic show. Her father had never made such an entertaining lunch for her. As she bit into her own sandwich, she asked, "Do you always get confetti with your lunch, or is today special?"
Jessie nodded at Star before swallowing. "It's my mother's special. My dad prefers to leave a small animal with my lunch. It's how I got my pet. He was just a cub back then, ah..." He rested his chin in his hand as he reminisced. "I mean... uh. Yea. So... Maggie, why don't you have a lunch?"
"Well. That cannot stand." Jessie pulled out an apple and rolled it to Maggie. "Better than nothing, right?" He smiled, until a cheese stick shot from his bag hitting him in the chin and knocking him backwards. "Owww... Thanks mom..." He groaned and sat back up, rubbing his head.
Peter sat down next to Jessie. "And I successfully made it to the lunch table today without spaghetti sauce on my jacket!"
Stephanie was in line for the auditions she was next and after seeing some of the other Marius' but they seemed to be doing black and red instead of stephanie who chose a different song. She walked out on stage stated her name, wanted role and chosen song. Then she began to sing. " Spoiler: Long lyrics There's a grief that can't be spoken. There's a pain goes on and on. Empty chairs at empty tables Now my friends are dead and gone. Here they talked of revolution. Here it was they lit the flame. Here they sang about `tomorrow' And tomorrow never came. From the table in the corner They could see a world reborn And they rose with voices ringing I can hear them now! The very words that they had sung Became their last communion On the lonely barricade at dawn. Oh my friends, my friends forgive me That I live and you are gone. There's a grief that can't be spoken. There's a pain goes on and on. Phantom faces at the window. Phantom shadows on the floor. Empty chairs at empty tables Where my friends will meet no more. Oh my friends, my friends, don't ask me What your sacrifice was for Empty chairs at empty tables Where my friends will meet no more ." She sang with pure sadness in her voice before she took a bow. "Stephanie that was magnafique, see you tomorrow in class for results."
"So, anyone auditioning for any clubs or anything?" asked Maggie, placing down the apple, and continuing to sketch.
Jacob sat down at an empty lunch table and dumped out his lunch bag. It was filled with various sweets and candies. He hummed and ate a single snack cake. "Mmm... Sweets..." He mumbled.
Stephanie approached the table which maggie and the others were sitting at. Overhearing Maggie talk about auditions. "I am, I just auditioned for my drama club/Class play. Which this semester is Les Miserables. I'm also heading to the debating society tryouts on Next week." she sat down pulling out some sushi for her lunch.
"Les Miserables?" asked Maggie, thinking. "I love that play. Is it open to anyone, or just drama students?"
"Drama clubs still has open spaces and the auditions are till end of lunch so you still have a chance. Don't go Marius though that roles mine; mainly due to to the lack of male auditioners."
"Who was the guy Hugh Jackman played? I loved when Hugh played Wolverine.", Peter chimed into the conversation
"I'm going to go... Do you audition in song? I'm auditioning for choir after school, so I have a song." she asked.
Jacob looked at the time on his cellphone and grabbed his lunch. He darted into the boys' locker room, and made sure nobody was around. He climbed on top of a locker and unscrewed the screws of a large air vent with the screwdriver he kept in his pocket. He climbed in and placed the air vent's bars back to their original position. "Missing a class or two wouldn't hurt." He reasoned with himself.
Maggie shrugged, and walked down the hallway, toward the drama room. She opened the door. "Hello?" "Hi, have you come to audition for the play?" Maggie shyly stepped in. "Yes, Ma'am."
