Cub roared happily. Jessie waved goodbye to Mr. Sombra and hopped into the van next to Star. "So. He seems like a bundle of joy. I bet he's great at parties." Jessie smiled at Star, before his mother turned around and snapped a picture, blinding them both with the flash. "MOM!" She laughed as she turned back around and started driving to the school.
"He's not so-" Suddenly, Star was blinded by the flash of the camera and completely forgot what she was going to say a out her father not being as terrifying as everyone thought he was. Instead, she blinked several times, trying to get the spots before her eyes to go away. As the vehicle started moving, she turned to face Jessie and whispered, "Please don't get into any fights with...You-Know-Who..."
"I'll try not to... but something in my gut tells me some big fight is gonna happen tonight... but I doubt it'll be me..." Jessie feigned a smile, and they arrived at the school. Jessie got out, and rushed around to open Star's door. He took her hand as she stepped out. His mother took another picture from the window and Cub roared. He waved his mother off and she drove away as the door shut. "We have a dance to own."
Stephanie arrived no date in tow but she was going to enjoy it anyway. She sat on the bench with some punch fixing her plack 6" stiletto heels. Her prom dress was black and figure hugging, while her hair was more wavy than usual. Spoiler: Her dress
Peter smirked at this comment. "You're enough to motivate me to survive." He then looked at the dance floor. "You know, I promised your father that you'd have the time of your life, and I don't think I've given it to you yet." He held out his hand to her and bowed. "May I have this dance?"
Mr. Drims stood outside the doors to the school, dressed in his standard coveralls. He tipped his hat to every student who entered. When Peter and Maggie walked by him, he leaned in and said, "Knock 'me dead, Pet-Mag." He let it a chuckle at his portmanteau. When Stephanie arrived a few minutes later, he frowned and stepped up to her, putting his hand on her shoulder. "Poor, poor Steffie...all dressed up and no one to enjoy it with..." He reached by her ear and withdrew a gold coin. "Here. A consolation prize." He leaned in close and said, "Keep it for good luck. You'll see..." Then, as Jessie and Star entered, hand in hand, Mr. Drims tipped his hat to them. "Good luck on getting Fall Formal Princess, Star Shimmer!" He then muttered, just loud enough for them to hear, "Like you'll need it..." Star Shimmer scowled and for an instant, very much resembled her father. She whispered to Jessie, "Do you want me to win?" She knew that deep down, either Jessie or Blueblood put her name in in the first place...
Jessie shrugged. "I don't really care either way. I'm sure someone has a plan for something if you win. Blueblood will come up to you, say something stupid... And then maybe you can punch him or something, and deny him. Removing his alleged popularity a bit in the process. But should we really be concerned with that now? We are here to have fun, so lets go do that." He smiled and motioned to the dance floor. "After you."
After they finished dancing, Peter looked up at the stage. "It's almost time for the announcement of the Fall Formal Princess, or as I like to call it, the announcement of who annoyed the most people into actually caring.", Peter joked.
Maggie laughed. "I tend to generalize the people who run for that sort of thing, but Star's running, so maybe I should rethink that."
She cast a sideways glance at Jessie. That sounds just like what a guilty party would say...distance yourself from the crime... She did, however, consider punching Blueblood, just of of spite. She simply smiled at him. "You're right. Let's not worry about anything tonight. We're here to have fun." She stepped out onto the dance floor, looking around for Blueblood. Strangely, he wasn't anywhere to be found.
Peter raised an eyebrow "Star is entered for the Fall Formal Princess? She really doesn't seem to care popularity, I smell a Blue-Blooded rat."
"Possibly. I knew I was really surprised when I heard. Apparently she's quite high in the votes, too." said Maggie. "If she did enter herself, I hope she wins. She deserves it."
Stephanie approached the couple two extra things of punch in her hands. "Hy guys, got you some drinks if you want it. Also look what mr Drimms gave me." produces the coin from her purse after giving them their drinks.
"He didn't say anything about it though, anyway enjoy your date. Mine should be arriving soon. He's a jock who go's to Drama Club with me, He's playing Grantaire. Aka the drunk Student."
Adam arrived at the gym, alone. He didn't bother getting a date, he didn't feel he was ready for a relationship yet. He simply came because his friends were going. "The punch looks nice..." He said before walking up to the refreshments table, and getting a glass.
"I bet he rigged the Fall Formal king votes as well." she waved over to her date and he walked over dressed in a a dark blue shirt, black tie and black trousers. "Guys, I'd like to introduce you too Alex. He's the only popular kid to accept me for my geekness so far."
Peter saw Adam. "You know, that guy was the first one to stand up to Blueblood, say what you want, but that guy is my hero.." He then heard Stephanie and reached out to shake hands with Alex
