I vaguely remember answering this question before... ...prolly more than once Spoiler: insight Haha, but I suppose I can still answer the question, although I doubt it'll be something that hasn't already been said. From the top: Stories, morals, humor, animation, pretty colors, pop culture references, d'aww, the feels man!, nostalgia, the songs, beautifully smooth animation, smart dialogue/amazing VA's, the community involved staff, etc., etc.
I know MLP FiM is my favorite cartoon show on t.v. with Littlest Pet Shop being my second favorite show except for the fact that you didn't mention the songs you just listed why I love both shows Sessha my friend. (Offers hug)
Hmm...well, the characters, the animation, the humor, the songs, the colorfulness, the dialogue, the fact that the team keeps in touch with the community, and probably more.
Manely :S, I like how the characters are portrayed. They aren't all these perfect little bubble-headed characters typically seen in 'girl shows.' They have imperfections, and some just plain flaws, that make them very believable. I forget that they are even ponies sometimes... that is until one of them eats a flower or something like that. To me, their personalities are about as 'real' as you can show in a Y rated program. That's why I think the show really struck a chord with adults.
^ Yami, the gif. It's perfect. I like the fact that it's a show for girls that the creators put some love and thought into, and it has *gasp* CONFLICT! Yes, this has happened before, but not nearly as often as shows aimed specifically for boys. I also find the animation style and character designs adorable, and I like the voice acting and occasionally the writing. Many other minor things, too.

It would probably be easier to list the things I don't like about the show. (I can't think of anything.) There are the lessons, the characters, the music, and of course Fluttershy. It's like we're cut from the same cloth.
I love the show because its so simple. Yet it can be surprisingly true and dark. Plus you really connect with all of the ponies. And its just a really sweet show. Plus i really love the animation. I really hope that this show will continue.
