Oh hell yeah! How I love this TesseracT album - though someone told me that the new singer kinda sucks. How do you think about that?
There's heavily mixed opinions on Coleman. The band itself liked him; he left on his own accord for personal reasons (which means the band is on its third vocalist after only one and a half albums... ouch). But I don't know what the general consensus is. So much as bring it up around most fans and you can count the seconds before it comes to blows. It's reminiscent of the Nightwish debates... groan. I get labeled as a hipster for it (of course), but I think TesseracT's lyrics and production sound much better in the old songs than the new. [video=youtube;XQipOdRpYSo]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XQipOdRpYSo[/video] But, to be fair, it's not Coleman's voice I dislike. It's that he's inaudible half the time. He sounds like he has talent, and I wouldn't write him off as being worse than Tompkins, let alone as sucking. I just think the rest of the band is drowning him out. They mixed the instruments waaaaay too high. I doubt something like that is Coleman's fault. (The old version was also longer and had a much better flow in my opinion, but that's also not Coleman's fault. lol)
