Well, to get how I came up with MagicPinkie, I need to share a little backstory~ xD When I first started posting on Ponychan, I was MagicRussia. I'm a big Russophile, and I wanted a username with 'Magic" in it because I love that word =D so MagicRussia was born! as I became increasingly emotionally attached to Pinkie Pie and seeing how similar she is to myself, I wanted a Pinkie related name. I still wanted other ponies I'm already friends with to recognise me, though~ Thus, I became MagicPinkie! but I'm MagicPinkay on here because the name-register thing wouldn't accept "Pinkie" =(
The way I decided on my name is much less dramatic and original than everyone else's, and can be summed up in three words (well, two and a symbol): Rum & Monkey. I just typed in my name, and their random brony name generator spewed Lightning Mustang in bits back at me. I have developed an OC around it though, so I haven't remained completely unoriginal.
My story isn't as extravagant as many of yours. It's fairly simple. My first username anywhere was church7089 because I was a little kid and loved the character, Church, from RvB. I met a few friends online this way, one whose name was Sonicrida. Fastfoward a few years. We form a Machinima clan (And we're actually signed with Machinima, so we did something right), and everypony starts changing their name to "Sonic character-rida" Since there were three leaders to the clan, Sonicrida, church7089 (Myself), and GrandFinaleX (Now Shadowrida), I decided to take the last main hedgehog character. Thus, Silverrida was born. Fastfoward more. Suddenly, PONIES EVERYWHERE. And now I'm Silverpony.
I'be been Ibage ever since the original Counter Strike. While the origin of my name is something I'm both proud of and regret, I use Ibage as my universal handle and its been that way for over a decade. As I hinted at at the start of this post, I used to play CS a lot. I was 12 when it came out and back in middle school, a few friends and I used to have LAN parties (I miss those so much). Ibage is a variant of Teabagging. Capitol I looks like T, the "bag" part is obvious and the "e" was added at the end to give it an organic feeling. I'm proud of myself I was able to make the name out of something else but at the same time, it's a reminder of my immaturity back then. As much as I regret the name's origin, it retains sentimental place for me. It's something I feel I can carry with me from my younger years for many more years to come. I've played many MMOs and I've been a member to many groups, forums and other games and I've used Ibage for almost all of them.
Hm... Well, when I felt I had become a brony some two months ago and that there was no way back anymore, I decided I had to exchange with other bronies. Online, of course. This in turn meant that I needed yet another online identity. I've already got several identities which I try to keep as much separate as I can, and there was no way that I would show people who already knew me that (and how much) I'm a brony. Together with the new identity, I needed a name, also to set up a new e-mail address. So I went the typical pony naming way, I chose something that would fit me and my interests/talents/personality, also because I wanted to create a sort of pony persona to go with it. There isn't much more about me than music, I think, and the way I make music, so I came up with Pulse Wave. I thought about it for a while, pondered whether or not to use this name, but in the end, it remained my brony name.
Aynine is based on a moniker I use for everything non-pony; It's simply my standard name backwards. Neither name has no real meaning, but Aynine is intended to prevent anyone I know from finding my writing based off of knowing who I am. Anyway, I use the name for everything, but Aynine is specifically for the pony fandom. Just a small piece of the puzzle!
My name so kinda of made for thi forum. I keep it till I think it's time to move on or I'll keep it forever, I don't know. -- Sent from my Palm Pre using Forums
I actually intend to keep my original name (Eninya) until the end of time. All the raiding in WoW I did has led me to adopt it as a permanent online name. Besides, it's too unique to pass up!
I guess but I had many different names before I took PIXEL. I used flashpointXJ, Nemesis, Exetrme justice and a few others but I'd have to hunt them down. I like to change it up, you know get a clean start. -- Sent from my Palm Pre using Forums
"Standby" was the winning candidate of my OC project. I had thought that a pony's name had to reflect their appearance, talent, or personality. And vice-versa. The word itself has several meanings, which I felt were just as applicable. Other names that were considered were "Cipher"," Numbers", "Data", "Standalone", "Fulcrum", and "Archimedes". The + stands for power, altogether meaning "Standby Power". In this context, it does not have much meaning, but I thought it had a good look to it as a name. Nearly every other detail about Standby's character is somewhat based on mine. Aside from that, there isn't much to tell about what it means or how/why I chose it. I can't help but think of Dan Hibiki when I see that name...just my two bits. :derpe:
My name doesn't have really have a meaning, but that's why I like it. I get to give the name a meaning. -- Sent from my Palm Pre using Forums
