I saw the first episode around March 2011, because a friend liked it right off the bat and he showed it to me. I was interested, but had too much going on in my life for me to really watch much of it. Still, I sat through the first two episodes, and decided that I did like it. The real test of commitment came at around June 2011, when I decided to finish Season 1. That was when I discovered there was actually a thing called the "Brony Community", and I was apparently already a part of it.
In early 2011 - spring, I believe - I was looking in the pink isle of a store, as I often did. I saw a Rarity toy and I thought it was beautiful, so I got it. Also, DaRarityRikuNFan had recommended the show to me before. I wasn't really interested since I didn't really care for ponies (though I did like unicorns, which was part of why I liked the Rarity toy). I did like the PPG, though. After I got the toy I decided to try the show. The toy came with an advertisement that had a link to the official site. I visited it and they had a free iTunes download of the first episode. I watched almost all of it and liked it a lot. Later I watched a few more episodes or something on YouTube. I mainly liked the toys, since I thought they were cute. I heard about the brony community but wasn't really interested in it. That changed in (I think) October of 2011, when we got The Hub. I started recording the episodes on a DVR and watching them. It was amazing how much that show started to mean to me in such a little time. It helped me a lot as well. I started the process of becoming a brony. Eventually I realized that I was indeed a brony, and it was a very wonderful and special thing. I'd say the process was complete in late 2011, maybe December (or maybe very early 2012).
I don't know the exact date, but it was around the time when "May the Best Pet Win" for Season 2 came out, because that's what was playing new on the Hub while I was watching the first episodes of Season 1. Checking the release date of MtBPW, it must have been somewhere around November 2011. I first heard of the whole MLP craze on FanFiction.Net around May 2011. One of my buddies on the website was talking about people liking this pony show. I didn't think about it much, except "What a bunch of wierdos." Until then, I started seeing more and more MLP-related things on the Internet. Eventually, I gave in, and watched the first episode. Then I wanted to watch the next. And the next. And the next... I spent two sleepless nights watching all of Season 1 on Youtube. I was confused, but I didn't care. These ponies made me happy, and that's all that mattered to me
i became a brony in 2009, when i watched the old my little pony show, i kinda fell in love with it (i was bored, and i had no computer back then) but i remember when i first started watching the new series of mlp.
I became a Brony around the time of S2E3. I remember, because I looked up the list of all the existing episodes on Wikipedia, and that was the latest one.
Late May 2011. Joined this site within a week of becoming a brony. Was a radio DJ within a month of joining!
26th May 2011, never forgot. I joined the site February 5th 2012, day after my dog died. Also, wasn't September 2011 the S2 premiere?
we have same Brony birthday, and became brony on same day /) Although, I joined everypony around July 2011.
Only three days after I became a brony our twelve month anniversary has already come and are so close to each other.
I guess I'm the only one who became a brony in February, probably for good reason, considering that was the month following the Derppocolypse
When I picked up the old DvD of My Little Pony and friends. The one with the moochick gnome kind of guy. Then when I discovered there was a new season and I was a brony immediately .
I became an official brony in June 2012. I've heard of the series before and remembering hearing about the old fandom as a child (my childhood was in the 90s, so I remember seeing clips of the old series and their toys). Never thought I would like MLP. Then I start to see Pony pictures, gifs, and videos all over the place (Youtube, 4chan, Facebook, and my home forum A4), most of them where of Pinkie Pie. Then I decided to study the show, characters, and fandom and read about bronies. By April or May of this year, I grew to like it and my favorite was Pinkie Pie. In June, I went to an anime convention in Tulsa, and ran into my friend (who use to be my girlfriend) and she was cosplaying as Rainbow Dash and she told me a little more about the series, since I still like her, I watched Youtube videos and PMVs of the show (mainly for Rainbow Dash). And I officially became a brony, I have no regrets except that I wish I got into it earlier.
Oh darn, you was a brony a whole month and 2 days before me. Whelp, at least that's one more thing we aren't alike in!
