I was thinking, a lot of times they end shows unexpectedly. So like, do you dudes think they will end the show without ever revealing the CMC's cutie marks? I mean to me, they seem like characters who will always be trying to accomplish something. Like when you think of Wile E coyote always trying to get Road Runner but to this day never succeeding. I don't know man, maybe its just me, i just think they will never have an episode where they get them. I think thats what makes their characters. With cutie marks, what are they?
Actually, Wile E Coyote has caught the Roadrunner at least twice.
Well, looking back, pretty much all of the episodes with the CMC on the cutie mark hunt are all in my least liked episodes. All of the non season 1 CMC episodes are pretty nice, which says something. They could have their cutie marks and still be doing something, like in their recent episode. I feel like they're also starting to differentiate themselves from the group instead of almost merging as one pony, and them pursuing their own talents would help with that. I would like it to happen, but it probably won't.
I doubt they'll ever achieve they're cutie marks. It is the main way of giving them a storyline by having them try different tasks. Although the most recent episode of the CMC was my favorite so far because it was more focused on what makes them unique and different rather than them acting as one.
I think yes, and then, like their clubs original purpose, they'll dedicate themselves to helping other ponies get theirs.
I don't know about that. Imagine if Sweetie Belle, for example, got her cutie mark in singing tap dancing, or something. What would happen? Would Scoots and Applebloom be happy for her? Jealous? Ambivalent? Would Sweetie still be considered a CMC, even though she'd no longer be questing for her own mark? Do you think she'd feel alienated and seek companionship from, say, DT and Spoon? They'd probably accept her once she finally got her CM, and if she were feeling left out by her other friends, she just might join them (kind of like how Babs Seed joined them because she would rather bully than be bullied). Would the issue finally be resolved by "Once a CMC, always a CMC!" and Sweetie would return to her true friends and continue helping them get their CMs? As you can see, there's quite a bit to play with there, story-wise. I think if the writers are clever - which we know they're well capable of - they'll give the CMC their marks one-by-one over a span of time.
That last one is obviously edited footage. Anyways, yeah, I don't think they'll get their cutie marks except if they do a show where it takes place in the future or something. Then we'd get to see what their cutie marks are. Maybe get a 'flashback' of when they got them.
When the writers run out of story ideas or find that they will have more story possibilities with the CMCs having their Cutie Marks, then they will make it so. This is why we have reformed Discord and Alicorn Twilight afterall.
I don't think they should just yet but they made Sparky and alicorn after 3 seasons so it's plausible.
It's a very common formula. Another very similar one is Pokémon. Ash literally never achieves anything on the path he set out on to become the world's greatest pokémon master. However, that's merely to keep the series going. (Lazily, i might add) But since the CMC aren't the main focus of the series, and rather a secondary set of main characters, they'll most likely get their cutie marks in one of the last episodes of the series.
I'd like to see an episode where one of them, say Sweetie Belle, gets her cutie mark, and how the other react. Then, a little later in the season, Scootaloo gets her cutie mark. What would Apple Bloom do? And if it were me, I'd then give Apple Bloom her cutie mark on the last episode ever. But, I don't expect they'll ever get one. Although I fervently hope otherwise.
(Insane Headcanon #3476) They all already have their cutie marks, but they're keeping them hidden from each other so they don't have to stop "crusading."
Well i don't think that will happen as it would eliminate a subject as a possibility for lines/scenes or even episodes on.
The main six have all got their cutie marks when they have a realisation of their talents or talent and so I think sometime in the near future when the CMC stand up to silvert..spoon and diamon tiara and in doing so realise their talents somehow.. I don't know honestly
It's like the new "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" show...no matter how hard April and the Turtles try, Karai just isn't gonna get demutated.
Looking back on this, I think it's possible they could get them. Or at least one of them might. Reformed Discord and Alicorn Twilight are perfect examples of things I never expected to happen, but the writers did it because it offered them more story options (and in one of the cases, because it could sell toys). An episode where only one of them gets their cutie mark would be interesting, and they would have to decide whether their friendship was based off of their crusading or if it was deeper than that.
