I must admit, I've been feeling rather stuck in a rut myself recently. But whatever I do, I won't give up. And neither should you, we'll both find our ways eventually!

Frost is right. another good quote that has helped me when i qiestion my purpose:

"nothing ever happens inside your comfort zone."

although you are comfortable with the things in your life, try something that is new, exiting, and maybe a little nerve-racking. thats what launched me into becoming a space nut, and that is what made me the brony i am today.

if you need anypony else to talk to, i am pretty regularily online. you can PM me as well

this is all too true RiverWalker. i started my life as a christian as well. about 3 years ago, i started doing things i knew were illegal and immoral, as well as slipping away from God. then it happened.

I started to feel empty inside, like i was just a shell. i found a way for everything negative that happened around me to be my fault. i was just going throught the motions of school and social life. but i too felt a calling. i was still going to church through this time, but eerything was meaningless to me. this calling came instead from a book. and its not the book you may think. it came frin a book entitled The Case for Christ. this book proved to me the existence of Christ, and therefore, God.

after i read this book, the sermon at church was called standing firm with God. the sermon, too, spoke to me and relinquished the metaohprical millstone around my neck.

ive been happy with life ever since

it will always get better, chocolate

I am much like you chocolatechip, I too do not know my path. I am, figuratively speaking, a blank-flank in search of my cutie mark.

Did you say you had aspergers? I have it too, and I reccomend you not to view this condition as a disability. It have as often been to my advantage as often as not.

I did recently graduate from school, and realized that I have no clear path ahead of me. This made me depressed, fortunatly reduced a little since I discovered FIM, mostly by luck.

I have always been talented in philosophy as well as psychology, some of the other bronies are right that spirituality can be an effective cure for depression. I am not a christian though, in fact, I dislike christianity for personal reasons, but I will not get into that. My own belief is simple, there are two powers in this world, Order and Chaos, both of these in extremes are bad. The true happiness lies in between, let's call that balance, or harmony.

So, my message is, love and tolerate, and be yourself, life do not have to be more complicated than that. Also, what god anyone worship does not matter, praise Celestia  .

exactly right, Prince Darkmoon. first, the underlying reality is that there is a all powerful sentient being. although i label myself Christian, all other religions have the same basic structure, even polytheistic religions (that is another topic to be saved for a later date). more importantly, this being controls Order and Chaos, making for the perfect blend for a Chaordic (CHAos-ORDer) lifestyle, or a harmonic lifestyle.

for chocolatechip: at the risk of sounding cliched, listen to your heart and follow your dreams.

    another quote i remembered:

"never let anyone tell you the sky is the limit when there are footprints on the moon."

"In the battle between Chaos and Order, Chaos will always win, because, overall, it is more organized"
    ~Terry Pratchett

One can believe what one wants, but entropy is a constant. And I see no problem with that. In the end, chaos is just the primordial stuff of creation, and is the natural state of all things. One can say that we are different, because we seek to bring order to the chaos, but we do this to make our own chaos more to our liking, do we not?
