I like objects that menace with spikes. Spike - as a dragon, or as a character - I do not recall liking. Sent from my SGH-T899M using Tapatalk
While a large majority of his episodes wind up being not so good I still like him as a character so yeah there you go.
Threads merged. And no, I don't like Spike. He ruins everything. At least he got slapped for it in the final episodes. And he needs to keep his filthy claws away from Rarity. Too many episodes devoted to him too; I want to watch My Little PONY, not My Little Baby Dragon.
The plot of most Spike episodes: -Spike screws up. -Somepony else has to clean up his mess. -Everypony forgives Spike, again.
Spike. What are your thoughts on Spike as a character? Why do a lot of people not seem to like him? I like how he's finally getting some respect with being a hero in the Crystal Empire, and getting a throne in Twilight's Kingdom.
He's the obligatory male, "little brother" character. In the G1 series, he was intended to be a character that would interest boys, and expand the show's audience. However, as it been shown many time and again that boys can be just as interested in female protagonists as they are in male protagonists, Spike has become little more than a throwback to the G1 series. Which would be fine, were he actually an interesting character. Personally, I don't like him because I find him boring. He's just kind of... there.
I read it as "Trader Sex Change" and was a little confused for a second there. Thought I should announce that.
I find it hilarious that the series treats dragons as either cute sidekicks, (Spike) or pests that need to be removed or kept on the fringes. From what it has seemed in some of the early episodes, they had a society of their own.
I thought exactly the same thing. although Hilarious wouldn't be how I would describe how I felt about it. :3
