Star began to gallop in the direction of the paths. "Every pony on this planet has a distinct type of energy, Gaze. You, me, Cyan, and even our mystery man. See that brown line? That line is Hibiscus'. But now, it's starting to disappear. The only reason that lines disappear is the fact that the pony who created them has--" The pair stopped as they walked into the room. The shield's light did not shine to the full room, but one thing was certain: There was a trail of blood on the ground leading to a darkened corner in the far part of the room. "Oh, dear sweet Celestia..."
Gaze looked at the blood trail with a shock of terror the smell of blood almost made him barf he looked at Star "Star we need to go now before we're the next victims," he started to back up hitting the back of the bubble.
Star swallowed as he spoke. "Yeah...Let's go..." He backed away for the doorway and moved down the hall, turning off the pathway spell to strengthen his shield after what he'd just seen.
Light Showers looked up to see that the two who had gone to investigate, it didn't take a genius to know what they had just seen. "From now on, we stick together, ok?" he said, getting up to light some more candles, "We shall either search the house together, or not at all."
Arrows walked back down the hall, with his bow ready. If there was a attacker, he wanted to be ready to shoot at any moment.
"Light is right, we need to stick together and find the beer-smelling pony. The last place i saw them before I got attacked was down the hallway near the sitting room."
Stupid...bloody...no good... Hibiscus stumbled down yet another familiar looking hallway with drunken anger. He was totally lost, and when he realized how difficult this would be, he subconsciously began drinking cider. He had gone through a bottle and a half already. "I'LL FIND YOU!" he shouted down the empty hall. "YOU CAN'T ESCAPE FROM ME! I SWEAR IT, I'LL HAVE YOU!" If he were sober, he would know perfectly well that treasure doesn't have ears, but he didn't care right now. Hibiscus stumbled into a wall and stopped where he was, breathing heavily. In the back of his mind, he figured that somepony else had already found the treasure. Damn you for being a cider addict... he thought. For all the trouble it's caused. Damn you! Retaining his feet, Hibiscus returned to wandering around aimlessly.
"Alright, listen up. As far as we know, we've got one dead pony on our hooves, and I shouldn't have to say that I don't need any more dead ponies on mine. We've got ourselves a nasty case of whodunit, and I'm not gonna rest until whoever's responsible is taken down. Got it?" He looked at every pony in the room with him, staring into each of their eyes as if he were looking for something. "I'll be honest...I don't trust a single one of you, not even Cyan. I have no evidence saying that any of you aren't the killer, and I'm gonna assume that all of you are until I can find some. So here's the plan: We're gonna search this mansion top to bottom in goups of 3. The killer can't take out two ponies at a time, and one's bound to leave and find help, like Cyan did..."
Gaze looked into Star eyes and nodded "Yeah that seems like a good plan look I will even make it better he brought his seven Star Bubbles and poked one of them making and note. "See if any of us get attacked or something we can use these as one note ' found something', two notes 'come over here', and the three notes 'Help'," Gaze said.
"I have good news and bad news." said the intercom, "Good news is is that the drunk is fine, just a little lost. Bad news, the killer, is one of you. That is all."
Star looked up at the ceiling to listen to the message, then back down at the ponies in front of him. "So...now we know we don't have to look very far to find him. Somepony in this room is a killer, and we need to find out who..."
"Well it ain't me, I just got here, and if I was here to kill you, would I heal Cyan?" Light Showers said.
Star looked to Light. "You've got a point. How could you possibly hurt somepony in the house if you weren't in the house?" He sighed. "One down. The rest of you to go..."
Arrows found a large vent. He unscrewed the bolts with an arrow and crawled in. He crawled over a duct, to find it was unstable and fell into the room where starlight, cyanside and a pony he didn't recognize were discussing who could possibly be the killer. "Uh... Hi?" He said, rubbing his head.
Gaze looked at Star "You know don't be to easy on Light we don't know this Mansion there might be hidden palces anywhere and he might have healed Cyan to become less suspicious," Gaze said he looked at Light "I'll keep my eye on you," he jumped when Arrows smashed through the ceiling. Gaze regained his composure and eyed him "What were you doing up there are you trying to spy on us?".
"Actually, I was trying to get to the treasure or atleast close to it. The duct for this hall was unstable." Arrows said, still rubbing his head.
Hibiscus stumbled his way down yet another hallway when he heard voices. They sounded very serious, which was not Hibiscus's favorite tone of voice. "Ay!" he shouted. "What're y'all doin...over there? Did some...somepony find the treasure?" He collapsed around the corner and stared at them all. "Well? Anypony find it yet or am I allowed to keep looking?"
Light turned to Hibiscus and said in a very serious tone, "We have managed to find our way into the Fun House of Death, and Somepony in this house, one of us seven, is the one to kill us all."
"Ooooh, all of this is so confusing." Shadow, take over for me. "NO! Don't do that now, you're going to make us seem suspiciou-" Cyanside's coat darkened to an almost black grey and her mane and tails colours washed into each other, reversing their positions. Bucking hell. "Okay then, we have to look at this logically. None of us were accounted for back there, from a neutral standpoint not even Cyanside is in the clear. For you know she could have cut herself in order to divert suspicion from herself. However, what would there be to divert suspicion from? If Hibiscus had died then framing herself as having been a target would been perfect. However, nopony here has been killed yet, which in all sense means that we do not have a killer among us...yet." Shadow raised her voice, making sure that everypony could hear her. "Listen up, there is no way of knowing if there is even a killer among us, however that does not mean it will stay that way. It could very well be that this is what that pony on the intercom wanted. We have an unknown amount of treasure in this house, which is enough reason in itself for murder, but suspicion brings tension between ponies, and the longer we are together the less likely we are to trust each other. However, we can't seperate. If there really is a murderer among us then we can't give them the chance to kill. We can't even afford to split into groups, as the less of us there are the greater the chance that one of us will get picked off. So lets try and find this treasure and escape together. If we can find it we will split it equally amongst everypony. Any questions?"
"Yes, two things." Light said, "If this pony really wants to make it so difficult for us to get the treasure, couldn't he have trapped this house? For all we know we could be standing on a landline just waiting to go off. And second, what if the reason why we were called here, was not for a chance at treasure, but somepony's sick, twisted game of survival."
