Hibiscus sobered up a bit at hearing this. "There's...no treasure? We're all going to die!?" He dropped his cider and it splashed all over the floor. "What- can't we just...leave or something? I...I'm done! I don't want the treasure any more, just let me out!"
"Calm down, Hibiscus! Everypony's gonna be fine!" Star walked over to a lit candle on the wall and leaned under it. "Now, if there are traps, we'll stay careful and we'll stay alive. As for the survival bit, we keep moving through this mansion until we either find the treasure or find the pony on the intercom and get some real answers. Until then, we'll just have to keep an eye on each other and hope nopony is hiding any secrets. It's as simple as that. Now..." He raised himself back up and dusted off his sleeve. "I think we need to get moving. We don't wanna keep the treasure...or our host...waiting any longer than they need to, right?"
"Everything will be fine as long as we keep calm, and have at least some degree of trust in each other. I doubt the house would be a deathtrap, otherwise they would be more likely to kill themselves setting the traps...That and..." Shadow stole a glance at Hibiscus "If there were any our drunk friend here would have probably set them off."
Hibiscus threw a nasty look at Shadow/Cyan after the remark. "Hey, I'll have you know....know that earth pony magic is extremely collective. I would have been able to avoid any traps with ease!" Hibiscus returned to leaning against the wall and sighed. "I...ugh...does anypony have any water..."
Arrows took a water bottle from his bag and tossed it to Hibiscus. "We should stick the together. Groups of 3 and 4. The killer will most likely only kill when we're alone. haveing seperate groups like that will prevent any sort of sneak attack." Arrows suggested
Gaze looked around and counted everypony in the room "Ok there is Me, Arrows, Star, Cyan, Hibiscus, and Light," Gaze said, "So we should go in groups of 3 one of us is the killer but he or she can't kill both at the same time so who wants to be the team leaders!".
The candles were suddenly and strangely blown out, plunging in the room into absolute darkness. They next time that they could see, it would to see that the entire house had just become a labyirinth and they were each cut off from each other. "Sorry little ponies, it seems the rules of the game have been changed." said a deep, gruff voice over the intercom, "It seems I have killed your original housekeeper, and here are the new rules, last one to live wins, simple as that."
Gaze was worried and got his Star Bubbles and launched them at the wall the Bubble bounced off and he grunted in frustration. "Great the wall is harder than iron," Gaze yelled he punched the wall in anger and ran into the maze with the Star bubbles surrounding him like a shield.
Hibiscus was about to down his water when his vision was cut off. "Augh...ahma...what?" he grunted. When his eyes regained their foothold, he was in a totally different hallway. He didn't even recognize this one from his wandering around earlier. A voice popped in on the intercom. "Sorry little ponies, it seems the rules of the game have been changed. It seems I have killed your original housekeeper, and here are the new rules, last one to live wins, simple as that." Hibiscus's shock was too great. He dropped the water on the floor and began sobbing. He had come here to get money to end his family's problems, but his death would only mean making things worse for them...unless he lived. Last one to live wins. Perhaps...maybe he still had a chance. Wiping the tears out of his eyes, Hibiscus walked down his hallway towards the unknown.
So much for keeping everypony together and alive, now thanks to that pony on the intercom their probably going to start killing each other the moment they meet. Well, as long as I only encounter the rational ones then everything should be fine. Shadow set out among the labyrinth with her guard up, ready to defend herself at a moments notice.
Light looked around at the maze that had sprung up around him, Celestia damn it, he thought, It's okay, if Somepony tries to kill me, I'll just use my aesthetic spell. Just gotta keep my eyes open for trouble.
Arrows walked down a hall, trying to make as little noise as possible. He saw the pony named Light. "Psst! Light! Over here!" He yelled out in a corner, that most ponies would overlook if they were just passing by.
Arrows suddenly felt his body go limp and his mind go groggy as an aethestic spell washed over him, "How do I know your not just trying to draw me into my death?" Light hissed
"Sorry little ponies, it seems the rules of the game have been changed." said a deep, gruff voice over the intercom, "It seems I have killed your original housekeeper, and here are the new rules, last one to live wins, simple as that." Star opened his eyes to a rather large wall directly in front of him. "Well...this is interesting..." He looked around, observing his new surroundings. There were corridors to the left, right, and back of him. "What did that thing say? Last one to live wins? This is insane, they're expecting us to pick each other off now?!" He slammed a hoof on the ground before looking up at screaming at whoever was listening. "I won't play your game, you hear me?! I won't kill! You can't make me!"
"I won't play your game, you hear me?! I won't kill! You can't make me!" Hibiscus's eyes widened with a start as the voice suddenly filled his hall. One of the others is nearby! he thought with excitement. Charging down a few more hallways, he shouted "Is anypony there? What happened to sticking...sticking...in a group! Hey!?"
Light slowly approached Arrows, "Alright, but I'm keeping my eye on you." then right before he reached Arrows, a wall popped up between them, "Ah! Creap!" he exclaimed in shock.
Gaze had been wondering the halls he had slowed down to a walking pace looking at everything with a bored look suddenly he heard two voices and he knew one of them Star's Gaze smiled. He knew if he found him he can use his track spell thing to find the others and kill the evil pony who had pitted them against eachother "Star! Where are you!" Gaze yelled at the top of his lungs.
