The chats will explode if Vinyl Scratch and Octavia having a talking episode together. Fanon will be destroyed.
FIIIIIIIIIIXXXXX IT..... Anyways, the fandom would fall apart. Just look what happened with the Derpy, Alicorn Twilight, and Equestrian Girls. I doubt a lot of people would like it, personally. We must all pray to whatever god(s) or science they don't change Rainbow's voice actress. The fandom would collapse for sure.
Lyra, Bon Bon, Carrot Top and Cherry Berry have all talked before so who's to say Vinyl or Octavia won't talk at some point too?
I think that the "Derpy" thing was an isolated incident and I doubt it will have any effect on whether or not other background ponies speak. As much as I like Octavia I doubt she will get a speaking role. for the most part we have only seen a couple of times on stage performing. Vinyl (how did they come up with DJ Pon 3?) I think has a better chance of getting a speaking role. Where as we have not seen her without her turntables I think she has been a bit more prominent thus far. I think I even saw her in the trailer for Equestria Girls.
Since there is no official statement about those two yet. I'm leaning heavily towards no but I'll pick Maybe since we haven't seen the end of MLP:FiM.
