She was quiet for a few moments, and he might've thought that she was ignoring him. Finally, she spoke up. "So... we take care of each other, then."
He didn't meet her gaze, but his expression was strangely hesitant. "I.. I didn't mean for it to come off the way it did.'
She looked up at him and slowly took his hand again, squeezing it. "I'm sensitive about that kind of stuff, and you're not used to having friends," she said, giving him a small smile. "We're not the most compatible team in that respect. Don't worry."
She smiled back at him, letting go of his hand as they walked, but still remained bound to his arm. "I'm glad you're here."
He was silent as well. They walked for a few hours before an intricate stone wall became clear in the distance.
"Udrulon," he said with a small nod. "I think so." It appeared small at first, but the closer they got the bigger it would become. It was large and made of stone, snow dusted on the rooves of the building.
Juniper seemed intimidated, frowning uncertainly as they approached. “What are we even looking for here? A key? There are lots of keys...”
“How will we know it’s the right key?” she asked, looking up at him. “How will we know that we don’t just have the key for the stinkiest outhouse in town?”
She started laughing. “I swear, Z, if we find this key and it turns out to just open an outhouse, I will leave. I’ll go home.”
