She was quiet for a moment before tilting her head a little. "I think I might really like nature magic."
She wasn't looking at him, instead looking at the gate. When he mentioned the farm, she laughed a little. "Yeah. Gods, I hope they're doing okay."
"I'm sure they are," he said easily as they approached the large gate. It clear lots of people went in and out; and the two guards watching from above paid them no mind.
They entered and June was looking around, her eyes wide, her concerns about her home temporarily dropped.
It was quite busy in the lower district. People, mostly dwarves, were bustling around, going from shop to shop. Most of the buildings were made out of stone, but the gray atmosphere was fought off with the warm light emanating from lamps.
She squeezed his arm slightly, and judging by the puffs of air leaving her mouth, she was getting excited. "I like this place."
She laughed a little, dropping his hand as she pulled away to investigate the lamps. "See? We are a compatible friendship!"
Her head was tilted back as she looked up at the light, the flames casting a warm glow onto her face. Her hand rested on the black iron post, and her golden hair fell around her shoulders softly. It was slightly frizzy from having dried throughout the night, and she looked over at him with a delighted grin, dimples exposing themselves on her rosy cheeks. "I think this place is really cool," she told him, pulling her cloak around her as she rejoined him.
"Particularly the lamps?" he asked with a small laugh, raising an eyebrow as they continued down the road.
"I think it's all cool," she replied, rejoining him and taking his arm again. "I like the feel of it, you know?"
He nodded, looking around. It was clear the kingdom was fond of blacksmithing, as intricate ironwork was almost everywhere, made with skilled touch.
