Juniper slept softly, her face worried even in sleep. As she woke, she blinked blearily in the morning light, her head lifting.
Zerras had just returned. He was shuffling through his bag with a small frown, having folded up his blanket carefully.
"Just getting my stuff together," he replied smoothly, packing in the blanket and closing it up. "Oh. I also got you something."
He laughed slightly at her concern, reaching over and grabbing a bedroll. It looked tribal, the material soft and thread lines brightly colored.
She brushed her fingers over it gently, her brows furrowing as she held it. She was quiet before she looked up at him. "Z, you can't afford this... did you get yourself one too?"
"Actually, it was pretty cheap," he said warmly, smoothly turning back to his own thing. "I helped out around the tribe and they seemed more than happy to trade."
He pursed his lips, looking up at her with a raised eyebrow. Clearly he couldn't avoid the question. "I have a blanket."
He quickly pulled away so she couldn't give it to him. He frown at her, crossing his arms tightly. "No. I got it for you."
She watched him, her eyes wide for a moment before she came up to him and stood on her tiptoes, giving him a quick peck on the cheek. "Thank you," she told him quietly, holding the bedroll. "We'll share it. Is that okay with you?"
"No bedroll could make me comfortable enough to sleep while you slept on the ground. It's fine. But we'll have to be a little close together. Is that alright? I'll stay on my side; I know you don't like hugging."
"I don't sleep on the ground," he told her stubbornly, his tone not unkind. "I sleep on my blanket. I'm not sure why you're so insistent.."
