She looked up at Zerras. “I do t quite know where to go to find adventure,” she admitted. “But we’ll look around. Thank you.”
The siren nodded, leaving them to it as she turned back to her partner. Zerras exhaled slowly. "I suppose we should start looking."
He looked uncomfortable and almost defensive, shaking his head he started off in the direction of the castle.
She followed him, her brow furrowed. “Zer, please don’t be mad. You know I want you around, I just...”
She looked hurt, pulling back from him. “I’m never going to be... you know. Yours. That’s not what you want from me. That’s what the line of questioning was about. I’ve asked you to stay with me on the farm and you’re the one who always says that he doesn’t think it will work.” She folded her arms, looking away uncertainly. “I don’t know what you want.”
He looked ahead again, his brows furrowed. He shook his head slightly, his whole body tense. "Let's just keep looking."
She looked a little irritated, a strange expression on her normally sweet face. “I don’t deserve you being mad at me, Zerras,” she said, her voice shaking a little. She stood her ground though, frowning at him. “I didn’t do anything wrong.”
“Why are you acting like this, then?” she asked, following him. “You got really cold all of the sudden and I don’t know why.”
"It's fine," he said with a frown. "It's nothing. I just need to figure out what I'm actually going to do after all of this."
He looked over at her, his brows furrowed. "How do you figure I'd do that? Could you even convince your mother?"
“I think I could,” she said gently, looking up at him. “I’d be willing to try. I...” She frowned, shaking her head uncertainly. “I want you around, Z.”
