“I’m the only one awake in the mornings,” she said, pulling her hood over her head. “They sleep until later.”
She shrugged, avoiding his gaze. “You know. Favorite colors, childhood memories, plans for world domination. Things like that.”
She laughed despite herself, adjusting the strap of her bag. “I’m not really the type,” she said. “I like my current life.”
“What do you want?” she asked, sounding genuinely interested. “From all this? Were you happy when you ruled?”
She laughed a little. “I know,” she replied. “But introspection is important. You of all people should know that.”
