She grinned at him, her hand coming up to cup his jaw before the music began to change its tune. “Oh. Switch.”
He looked up with a frown as they went with other partners. A girl with brown hair and sky blue eyes swapped in, a feather in her hair. Her movements fit in with the crowd, and she seemed decent at dancing. Her gaze was bright. "I've never met a demon before!"
Juniper was pulled the opposite way, taking the hands of a curly haired boy who seemed a little nervous. “Hello,” he said quietly. “I need to warn you... I’m a terrible dancer.” June beamed, taking his hands and spinning around. “No such thing.”
Zerras seemed mildly displeased. "We're not common." She nodded with a small laugh. "I know. Your dancing is stiff too." He frowned.
Juniper, meanwhile, was laughing. “You’re doing great,” she said earnestly, leading the boy in a circle. He seemed very stiff, but he was relaxing, and even lifted her up for a spin.
Zerras still wasn't completely sure what he was doing so the girl did most of the leading. Her touch was light and feathery but she did well at directing him, laughing slightly.
The music changed again and the boy gave June a wave as he took the girl back, switching places with Zerras.
The girl's smile widened as she returned to the boy. Zerras looked relieved as well. "I don't want to switch out anymore."
She watched him before the music ended with a grand flourish. June was clapping, but she looked over at Zerras. “You wanna head back?”
He was looking at the crowd but nodded. Before he could speak the girl from before came up to him, her gaze fierce and curious. "You're a demon! Do you come from the mountains?"
She looked excited, her gaze not unkind. "A demon. I've never seen a real one. I heard they came from the mountains."
Zerras looked confused, an eyebrow raised. The girl laughed slightly. "I suppose I'm just curious as to what it was like.." "I don't know," he replied with a frown. "I wasn't born in the mountains."
"That's what I've heard as well," she said easily, glancing back for the boy. "I suppose I shouldn't disturb you."
