She looked up at him nervously, her brows knitted together uncertainly as she considered him. “I...I don’t mean to be clingy...” she began uncertainly, propping her head up on her arm. “But when you say you like me...”
Her flush deepened, and she looked away. This tiny action didn’t seem enough and she laid on her back, looking up at the stars. “...you... you like me, like me?” she asked, cringing at how infantile it sounded. “Like... can we...” She pressed her fingers to her eyelids as if warding off a headache before gesturing vaguely to the sky. “...can we define this a little?”
He propped himself up now, rolling his eyes slightly. "How shall I put it..? I'm attracted to you. I care about you. I have a crush on you."
She looked utterly mortified now, her cheeks a fierce pink as she looked over at him. She was quiet for a moment before she reached up, cupping his jaw. “So... can I...” She paused before laughing a little. “Can I kiss you now? When I want to?”
She instantly looked as if she regretted the question, sitting up and looking at him. “I didn’t mean to be so forward,” she said nervously, beginning to babble. “I just didn’t want to make you uncomfortable and I wanted to be clear and I thought that the best way was to ask and...”
He squinted, his head tilted slightly. "Are you going to kiss me or not? Because if you won't start it then I will."
Her flush deepened and she blinked at him before leaning forward slightly, not quite making contact. “And you say I’m forward...”
She leaned into his touch, watching him for a moment before she moved forward and brushed her lips gently against his. He would be able to feel the smile on her face; she was teasing him.
“Zerras?” she replied playfully, pulling away from him with a sweetly earnest look on her face. “Did you want to talk about something? Did you want to have a long conversation that would occupy our mouths and keep us from doing other planned things?”
