She didn’t seem to notice his blushing, kissing his fingers gently, as if worshiping him. “You don’t need to teach me,” she replied quietly as she moved. “I’m sure I could figure it out.”
She flushed, looking up at him. “Yet another power imbalance,” she teased. “Good thing you’re attracted to me, or I’d be completely hopeless here.”
“Untrue,” she replied, shaking her head as she beamed up at him. “I’m still not entirely certain this isn’t all some sort of trick to get me to fall in love with you.”
"Ugh. You said that about liking you too," he told her with a small frown. "Is it really so unbelievable?"
She looked up at him skeptically. “The beautiful, clever, all-powerful warlord falling in love with the farm girl? Yes, Zer, that seems unlikely.”
She laughed lightly, leaning forward and kissing his forehead. “Fine, then. How about this? When you realize you’re in love with me, just give me a little wave and say ‘now’. We’ll see exactly when that happens.”
She laughed again, kissing the back of his hand again. “That’s even less likely; you won’t be in love first.”
