Firo gave her a small smile before going quiet again, focusing on the journey. After awhile, the buildings became more frequent and grander, some decorations already hung for the flower festival. It was different from the rural village life, and was bustling with people about their day. They made it to the city hall, which also acted as a gate for the royal castle. Firo hopped off the cart, going to talk to the event planners.
She looked around, pulling her cloak tighter around herself before standing up, stretching her arms below her head and yawning a little.
The planner spoke to Firo before moving over and speaking to the two of them. She was faerie, and her wings fluttered excitedly, dark hair tied up. "Thank you two so much for bringing these. I'll have my people start moving them right away. It won't take long. While they're doing that feel free to explore the city. Here is your payment," she said, her voice quick and bright as she dropped a bag of coins in their hands.
She gave the faerie a smile, ducking her head in a sign of respect. “Thank you, miss,” she said quietly.
She nodded before turning to her group of workers, who were other fairies. "Alright! Let's get to work! Chop chop!" She left her and Firo alone, as Tanzy hopped down and stood beside her. Firo pursed his lips. "I'm gonna go look around."
She pulled her hood up before looking down at her companion. “What do you think, Tanzy?” she asked quietly, looking down at him. “You hungry? We skipped breakfast.”
She laughed gently before setting off down the street, looking for some sort of food that they could buy, her soft eyes looking around the town in thought.
There were plenty of places to stop and eat, small cafes or bakeries, stand selling delicious smelling food. The options were endless.
She weighed her options before settling on a cheap food stand that sold hot pastries so that she wouldn’t have to leave Tanzy outside. She got in the line, her thoughts idly returning back to her visions.
The line didn't last very long. Once she got to the front she was greeted by a gruff looking man, who had a kind face. "Heya, miss," he said in gravelly voice. "What can I getcha?"
She gave him a sweet smile, her eyes glancing over the menu. “One farmer’s scone please,” she said easily, her voice soft.
"Comin' right up, he said, turning his back to her and picking a fresh one up from the heat, carefully placing it in a bag and giving it to her. Tanzy was sniffing at her feet curiously, looking around. "That'll be just 4 kroele."
She opened the bag that the faerie had given her, counting out four kroele before offering it to him.
She smiled back and took the bag before heading out with Tanzy. “Do you want to find some food?” she asked him gently. “I’ll follow you.”
