They had a little routine they did when packing up for the day. June would cover the fire while he gathered up the food from the night before. Whoever finished first would roll up the bedroll.
She finished quickly afterwards and came up to him, slipping off her cloak. "It'll be nice to go back to everyday life," she mused, rubbing the back of his head idly.
She folded the cloak over her arm, laughing gently. “I guess my normal is a little different than yours. Do you think you’ll get bored?”
He raised an eyebrow at her playfully. "I doubt I'll get bored. I did something for the last 200 years."
She laughed a little, slipping under his arm and kissing the side of his chest. "That's true. But it's not very exciting, my life. It's pretty monotonous." She shrugged, looking up at him. "I guess we could always go do other things if we wanted... as long as my family was okay."
"Not that I can think of," he said, checking the map. "We might run into some stuff, but I'm not sure."
She brightened, looking up at him. "Yeah. It's always such a relief," she commented. "You're so serious a lot of the time, but everything feels okay when you smile."
