Her whole face was shining, but she cleared her throat, tossing her hair and shrugging. "Yeah. I did it. No big deal. Let's go through the whole in the giant stone wall that I created."
Her brow knit together in a frown and she paused for a moment before replying. "Well... do you know where you're going from here?" she asked hesitantly. "Not to imply that you don't. I just... I've never been outside the Wall."
"Well, yes," she agreed, tucking her hair behind her ear reflexively. "I know. But... I mean, do you know where Saimore is in relation to where we are...?" She pointed down at her feet as if to indicate their current location. "...right now?"
"Yes," he said, raising an eyebrow. "I'm well acquainted with the locations of neighboring kingdoms."
She seemed suitably impressed, going quiet for a moment before giving him a wordless nod and a vague gesture for him to lead the way.
He continued leading, taking them past the pathway through the wall and out on the other side. It was grassy and green, the start of the forest visible in the near distance. Wind blew freely, rippling the long grass.
Once or twice, she would stop to investigate the plants under their feet, always having to hurry to catch up with Zerras' quick stride. Finally, however, she pulled a handful of strands of long rye grass, and began to weave them as they walked, her head bent over her task.
She glanced up and quickly hid the weaving under her cloak, although he was able to catch a glimpse of it before it disappeared under the pink cotton. "Nothing," she said innocently, tilting her head. "Just walking and thinking about walking."
"I don't know what you're talking about," she said, moving past him quite quickly. "How much longer do you think it'll take for us to get to Saimore? Will we need to stop to sleep before we get there?"
"Okay, that first conversation isn't done. Secondly, we might want to camp and wait for tomorrow before heading into the woods. It's dangerous there at night."
