She shook her head instantly, looking uncomfortable at the thought of going back into town again. “No, let’s just go.”
She blinked in surprise, tipping her head back to look at him. “Why are you sorry? It’s not your fault.”
She laughed a little, shaking her head. “I never thought I’d say this, but you’re worrying about me too much, Z. Don’t worry.”
She was quiet for a moment, considering the horizon. “Can you tell me about your life?” she asked, looking up at him. “You’re quite a bit older than I am.”
“Uh...” She considered this, pressing her lips together. “What was your childhood like? What did you do for fun?”
He looked thoughtful. "Hm.. I did a lot of studies. Sword fighting, horseback riding, stuff like that."
