She frowned, tilting her head curiously. “Why would I be flirting with you? That doesn’t seem like me.”
She laughed a little, looking up at him. “Don’t worry, Zer,” she said gently. “I know I’m not exactly your type.”
He squinted at her before looking up. Tiny snowflakes had started falling. Zerras frowned, pulling his coat tighter.
She pulled her hood back, her reaction completely opposite to his. The snowflakes fell on her hair and she tipped her head back, a cloud passing through her lips as she looked up at the sky. Her cheeks were rosy, and as he watched, snowflakes landed on her lashes.
She considered this, sticking out her tongue. When one fell on her tongue, she laughed, a soft little noise that sounded almost like she had startled herself.
She nodded agreeably, looking up and noticing his expression. She reached down tentatively and squeezed his hand before letting go. “Don’t worry, Zer,” she said gently. “We’ll be okay.”
She followed him, still silently marveling at the snowflakes. As they walked, through, her gaze strayed to the back of his neck and a frown of concern crossed her lips.
She followed him obediently as they walked. Her ears and hands were getting cold, and she blew into them to keep them warm.
He eventually found a spot shield mostly by branches. He began to clear out the space of snow and debris, setting his bag down as he started to make the campfire.
In the meantime, she began to set up a barrier against the wind, overlapping branches as she worked, her hair blowing in the breeze.
He set the rocks together and gathered some dry sticks, setting them down before further focusing on clearing out the area of snow and brush.
She began to disassemble their bags, setting up his sleeping bag right next to the fire pit to ensure maximum warmth, and built up the wall along the other side.
