Hi there, people. I just recorded some song covers and thought I'd make this thread to share them with you. If that's okay with you... So without further ado, let's kick this off. Go ahead, fire away. Let me know what you think. I know about the rule against double posts, but I'm only allowed one video per post, so... Edit: Herpaderpa, I could have just not embedded the videos. Sorry.
Thank you, B-Dog! These were recorded in a straight take in my dad's garage. If editing had been possible, it'd probably sound a lot better. Edit: All videos linked in first post. Aces High is my least favorite of them. It just sounded strained.
I like your covers of "Long Time" and "Far From Heaven" the best, those were very nice! One piece of constructive criticism; I'd be careful with songs like Aces High. It seemed that it was a little too far from your vocal range and it seemed like you were struggling a bit to maintain the higher pitches.
It's not necessarily that it's too high. It's like...I dunno, it's in a kind of awkward middle range for me. Not low enough to use my lower voice, but not often high enough to use my more comfortable high voice. It's like there's this barrier I have to shift between to go from one to the other, and Aces High is straddling right on that barrier. xD But you're definitely right. I do have to be careful with songs like that. A lot of Iron Maiden songs give me that trouble. My biggest problem is I try to force the notes too much. On my good days, the notes flow more naturally and don't sound forced. It's why I need vocal coaching. I need to learn how to relax all the time instead of just good days, or something... 'Course I could just be talking out my butt for all I really know about singing. And, of course, thank you for posting your feedback! Any and all are welcomed. EDIT: Oh my god I'm stupid. I just noticed my link to Bohemian Rhapsody actually led to Long Time. Fixed now. :derpe: Urk, flat on the high note. Gotta record a better version. It's been a while since I sang that high.
I have difficulty with middle range vocals too, so I get what you mean. I'd like to make song covers myself, but my parents would probably beat me (not really). :derpe:
Update! Presenting: Pinkie Pie's "Smile, Smile, Smile", a cover by me.
Careful with the praise, guys! If I hear much more of it, I might actually begin to think I can sing. :derpe: And Jack, I don't mind being in a song, if you think I'm good enough. Anyway, another update: "Paradise Lost" by Symphony X
I did this for a contest YouTube user ZeBlaZeD is holding. Sent from my DROID3 using Tapatalk 2
Thank you LSC. I'm interested in this parody. PM me and let me know more. Got a few more here. Find a Pet - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yHoyIgvkbnE Egypt by Symphony X - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b5js1UXPHf8 And, of course:
