Though I am personally disgusted by the MLP r34, I really have no power over the internet. Nothing is sacred-so I just go eww and laugh and move on. It's the internet. The only thing I wish would change would be the fact that smutty art is clicks away from regular art and mixed in together so folks can't help seein' it.
Ponibooru content preferences and DeviantART mature filter works wonders you know. I honestly almost never find clop unless if I'm purposely searching for it. And stay away from 90% of ask[pony] tumblr blogs too. Google Images on the other hand.....SafeSearch? Haha, funny.
Humanized ponies are fine, most are tasteful and visually appealing Like this: I've even drawn humanized ponies before myself. As for clop, not a big fan of it, except sometimes when it's funny. Anyone remember the "ask berry punch" tumblr? Hah Well I guess that isn't really r34, but it insinuates it, so close enough.
My opinion on this has remained the same for the longest time, and it's rather simple so I won't go 'wall of text' mode on you guys. If you like the stuff, awesome, but don't shove it down my throat. I hate when people try to get me to look at porn of any kind when I don't want to. If you draw the stuff, that's cool too. Just about every artist has, it's perfectly fine to experiment with your skills and see what you can create. However, there's a difference between drawing it just because, and drawing it for fame. I have loads of problems with those who will draw the stuff for fame and money. It's in all honesty, a shameful thing to put up on normal sites, but if you do so in the correct sites (which I won't name for obvious reasons), then everything is good in my book. tl;dr- If you like it, cool. If you draw it, awesome. Just keep it away from those who don't want it. Put it where it belongs for those who enjoy it.
Well said. Same goes for me, although I went a little overboard and started saying some mean stuff about cloppers.
I'll say this. If my (hypothetical) kid enjoys My Little Pony, I shouldn't have to worry about him/her visiting websites or social gatherings based broadly around My Little Pony because they might be exposed to porn. Remember, no matter how big an adult male fanbase this show attracts, it IS aimed at children (with many shout-outs to its adult fans, to be fair). If mainstream websites DO harbor pornography or otherwise upsetting material, they should segregate it enough that you can't just stumble across it. Either way, I think the fandom mainstream should be kept as family-friendly as possible. From what I have seen, ED does a pretty good job of balancing the various concerns and interests in question. Now, if you also want to make websites dedicated to pony porn/clopfics/deliberately upsetting material, then that's fine. That kind of thing isn't going away. However, I think it needs to stay OUT of the mainstream fandom as much as possible. I don't really care for anthro pony art for the most part, although I have seen some startlingly beautiful human Fluttershy images that I have added to my files.
These two sum it up for me (and in retrorespect, Everypony.com). I don't like the stuff, I don't really agree with it. However I'm well aware that I, very likely, have habits and hobbies that other people in turn, may not approve of. I don't judge cloppers, not at all. It's no different to discriminating against gays or trans, you can't help that kind of thing - but there's a time and a place: When you're alone and in a segregated place.
inb4virgilcomesinhere I respect good art when I see it, even if it is clop art. I'm not really a clopper per se, but if a piece of art, while NSFW, is good enough to be classified as 'art' then I'll admire it for a few seconds and move on. I don't mind clop one bit. Humanized on the other hand... I can't stand it.
Too late. :derpe: I don't mind clop at all and admit to enjoying it every once in a while, though it's a rare thing. Basically, I agree with Zephyr and mike. There are ways to limit or eliminate the clop you come across, but I would prefer the clop be limited to r34-specific sites, so that those who dislike it, and more importantly, those who are underage (and the show's child target audience) aren't exposed to it. I agree with PonyExplosion and GrayKnightmare. Clop should be on their own specialized sites, so when clopers want to clop, they simply go to those sites (that you won't find as mainstream sites on google and such), but a little place where they can go when they want to. All other sites should stay family friendly (including facebook fanpages and google image searchs (although, I have to say, when searching for pony pictures on google images, I very rearly stumble appon clop pic, and if, then not on first few pages, but somewhere on further pages)). as for humanized ponies, I don't have problem with them at all. even so, I think that one of mlp staff (I think one of background artists on the show) makes humanized pony art on his deviant art. My sister is actually fan of humanized ponies (specially if drawn in anime style (she's big anime and japan culture fan))
One sec, let me just climb up on this thing... One more thing: every decision is life makes a statement. When you include clop on a website or in a social gathering and it isn't explicitly walled off from the normal content, you're implicitly making the case that it is okay to make a wide variety of people uncomfortable for your personal pleasure. People of all ages and temperaments should be able to enjoy and talk about ponies. If you want to frame it in terms of loving and tolerating, then you might say that a part of love is consideration for others. Now, there are limits: some people would rather that clop be erased completely from the internet, but that clearly is an unreasonable and intolerant feeling. If we segregate clop from the rest of Bronydom, we can take into account both the needs of cloppers and people who shouldn't or don't wish to be exposed to clop.
Opinion on clop: That is, unless you means SPECIFICALLY r34, as in niche porn. In that case no comment. However, I WOULD like to mention that you CAN control where you go and what you do with your internet, and whether or not you decide to condemn mixing art with different art. The freedom to simply condemn some practices and then STAY AWAY FROM THEM is yours.
Agree with this, clop should be on dedicated websites. But this should not apply to shipping which I deem totally innocent.
MLP R34: Don't mind. Anthropomorphisation: Don't mind. There. Those are my opinions. No need to go deep into the subject.
I hate this topic anymore. On this site, tumblr,DA. Why can't everyone just shut up and ignore what they don't like. Just sayin. INB4 someone takes this to far. LoL, normally that'd be me doing that. Irony. -- Sent from my Palm Pre using Forums
If I remember correctly, last time we had this discussion the person to take this too far was Virgil. Oh Virgil, he who is incapable of seeing outside the tunnel he build for his mind. (Protip: I simultaneously understand almost all points of view, I just don't agree with most.)
Can we not start attacking people Dan? Whether your statement has merit or not, it's entirely inappropriate. That's a warning.
I can agree with that, just like with any other form of R34 clop-art & NSFW should be separated from the general & SFW sites for the fanbase. As for me, I think the one reason people find these ponies so sexy is the VA's Tara Strong, Anrdia Libman Ashleagh bell, Tabitha St. Germain (probably misspelled half of those, but oh well) Do such a good job, and all have lovely voices. *giggity* lol. At least, thats what makes the characters appealing to me (on top of their personalities that is.)
Clop: I will have say no to that, but I don't mind it being there, as long, of course, its away from regular brony sites and in their own special little areas. Humanization: All depends on how well its done, but anthros, no, its either full on pony, or full on human. There, I said it.
