So I'm curious. What do you guys consider ponies in panties to be? Is that clop art in your eyes? -- Sent from my Palm Pre using Forums
It is not clop at all (duh) although Ponies wearing clothes in general always seemed a little more provocative then naked ponies.
It was just a question, people have different views. I just wanted to know. Also, on a lesser note I asked to see if drawing a pony in panties would label me a clop artist -- Sent from my Palm Pre using Forums
Agreed. Personally I love that twist. Me: Ahh a pony in panties & stockings ........ why does that make it saucy when they usually don't wear cloths? Internet: Because......Magic? Me: Ahh...works for me. But yeah gotta love how stuff like that turns out, lol. And yes I would agree, its not clop art, its fan service (or an attempt at) sometimes, but not clop.
Animal nudity is seen as innocent, in general. Wearing provocative clothes adds an element of suggestiveness, though, as it gives their bodies a superficially human quality.
So that's six that say no and one that says yes. Interesting. Hmm...... I'm still gonna do it *avoids the rocks*
This is pretty much how I feel about Ponies in panties. I have seen some rather cute images that have them wearing panties...... And that totally didn't sound creepy at all lol.XD
I like clop art when it is well-done. Heck, I like ANY art when it is well-done. I found a deviantart pic of humanized ponies done up like Disney Princesses that I really like: http://fc08.deviantart.net/fs70/i/2011/176/b/6/my_little_pony_princesses_by_madam_marla-d3jx9nv.jpg
Suggestive, yes. Clop, no. Or, it can be clop, but not unless it is explicit. Do you remember that suggestive picture of Twilight Tara Strong had tweeted that one time? Ponies in panties is about equivalent to that for me.
Clop? No. Suggestive? Depends. It implies that the pony has something to cover up. And do you have an issue being labeled as a clop artist? Some of my favorite artists are ones that make clop.
I think the college I went to can help with this. Being a private school, the Art Institute was free as a bird to let whatever students wanted to count as art to be submitted as art, all the way up to and including suggestive material. However, most classes choose to caveat this with the following: Pornography is any implied or explicit penetration. Which is pretty honest, if you think about it. There's nothing wrong with depicting a woman in her underwear in a scene where the narrative dictates. If she has to be nude for instance, it also suffices to say, 'she needs to be portrayed naked for this scene', or 'the nudity implies/symbolizes purity,' or some other justification. The line in the sand was always, and continues to be for me, whether or not suggestive material is required to tell the story. If the story is, 'Check out this babe in her undies,' yeah, that's clop.
Your art classes have an awful definition of pornography. Your own definition (or 'line in the sand') seems pretty good. I think the broadest definition of pornography I would go with is: "Sexually explicit material designed solely to titilate." That isn't perfect, but I think it helps draw the line between cheesecake, erotica, and pornography, which are all different in my mind.
Yes I do. I already don't like that it's so popular. DHN has had the majority of it's artist interview be artist that deal with clop. When people say JJ, they think clop. When people say Slugbox, they think clop. I should say if you guys know of Junglepony, that kind of ponies in panties I'm not a fan of. SmittyG on the other hand I love. I don't care personally if someone draws clop, I just don't want people to go on my page and see it and think that's all I do. I think virgil says it best and with me agreeing that his view, that would make what I wanted to draw considered clop, even though personally I don't think it is. Hmmmmm........................................................................................................ This is a thinker. -- Sent from my Palm Pre using Forums
They can like what they like. I've already said I like ponies in panties and plan to draw attempt would be a better word. The fact that it's popular does affect me, I don't want people thinking I'm doing it just for page views. -- Sent from my Palm Pre using Forums
