Hey! Hey! Hey, watch this! Seems like a thing I ought to summon @Rockout E. Stringer for as well. Good god this is amazing to watch. It's so clear, it's so detailed and it's creepy as all hell. I have a huge amount of admiration for Majora's Mask and this makes me wish there was a full movie.
This is most defiantly a excellent tribute to the game that brought out the darkest of the Zelda Universe. Majora's Mask was one of the few that accomplished what few can craft into a excellent Adventure/Horror style game. I say horror because of the theming of the world of Termina. What has happened to the world is much darker than anything previously done or after the fact. While the world felt happy, there was something very off. There was always this sense of dread and it's played off well. The final hours section of the game you'll see a lot, is by far one of the most brilliant parts of the game. That sense of helplessness against a force much stronger than yourself dragging moon made of Nightmare Fuel to destroy the world you are in. The other thing is how hauntingly similar the world of Termina is to Hyrule. All down to the characters. The funny thing is, that this game is like a dream world in it's own right. If it were the case, it would not be the first case of the Dream World existing for the LOZ universe. Though the strongest characters of all of them are the Skull Kid, The Happy Mask Salesman, and Majora itself. Part of it is how they are played into the story. They hold the most impact to everything out of anything else in the story. They are the core characters that make all the rules of what to expect.
I'd really like to see the older LoZ games get the FFVII treatment. Majora's Mask was one of the best (and most criminally underrated) games of the series, so I'd love to see what could be done with it on a modern console.
