I know what you mean, I think having the real thing is always more... expressive of fandom I guess. But I haven't bought them, Pokemon is a major spending thing for me... and I'm only in highschool, so not too much spending anyways. I'm born into a naturally thrifty..(is that the right word?) family, though... so I have become a tiny bit of a cheapskate... but I would buy the series, too
It's up to volume 52 now, and each book is usually ten dollars, So if my awful math skills are correct, I have spent around $520 on them since I started getting them about 5 years ago....it's worth it...to me at least...

The only thing else I have beside ponies are my Yu-Gi-Oh cards/deck... Which during my Senior year of High School. I was playing against some of my other Asian friends who are cheap... :/ I wonder how much I could sell my cards for...some are worth like $20+...
I got a shoebox full of yu-gi-oh cards....some are pretty good. I stopped buying them while it was doing the whole "Elemental Heroes" thing...Yu-Gi-Oh GX, I think. I loved playing but my brother never wanted to....I still have my awesome duel disk!

Nope, if it is then I'll be in shock... I played Yugioh from grade 2 onwards, and then got MTG cards... Had a hard time "learning" to. I phrase learning like that, because I forgot. :derpe: Yugioh has its own unique playing style... but it's very easy to learn the game, yet promising for those with skill as well... I reccomend it ^_^
