Welcome Everypony! To EP Blogs!

So I bet you're wondering...
We've actually had these a while, we've just been making small adjustments, deciding on appropriate categorization techniques and generally procrastinating about their release.
This section of the site is intended to complement the forums; it gives each member their own personal area to express themselves, their thoughts, feelings, hobbies and anything else (within the rules) they feel they'd like to share with the world.

Can I have one?
Yes. Currently, Everypony with an Everypony account can have a blog.

How do I get one?
Go back to the blog home page and click "Create New Post" in the top corner, it's that simple!

Can I customize my blog?
Yes! Whilst browsing the /blogs/ section of the site you should see a 'Manage my Blog' link on the secondary navbar. This leads to a control panel that will allow you to personally tailor your blogging experience.
You can change your blog's appearance, organize your sidebar, add custom content pages, change who can access or post on your blog, view its statistics and much more!

Custom Content Pages?
Think of your blog as a mini-webspace, inside EP. You have the ability to make a number of custom pages (5), formatted by BB code. Stick whatever you want in there (within reason!).
Your custom pages will appear on the coloured bar above your blog page (or blog posts), so everyone who visits your blog has a chance of stumbling across them. I've got an example one up, if you wish to take a look, though I won't lie, it's nothing special.

Do I need to keep my blog pony related?
Not at all! You don't even need to make it all about one thing (though it may be advisable if you want to gather some static interest), just make sure you categorize each post appropriately! If it's not pony, tick the non-pony category! If it's pony, and art... Tick pony and art. Simples?

Subscriptions
There are two types of blog subscriptions: Blog subscriptions (funnily enough) and post subscriptions.
If you find a post you're reading particularly interesting, you can hit "subscribe to blog post" and get notified about any further comments or updates to it.
If you want to follow the user's entire blog, check under their avatar to the right of their blog page and click "subscribe to this blog". You'll then be notified of any new posts the author submits.

What are my "options" when publishing a post?
The additional options open to you are:

Allow comments to be posted -- Untick this if you wish for people to be unable to comment on this particular blog post
Moderate comments before displaying -- Turning this on means you have to approve any comments made on your post blog before they'll appear
Restrict entry viewing to Contacts and Blog Moderators -- This will prevent anyone but your EP FRIENDS and MODERATORS/EP Blog Staff/Admins seeing your post

You can also elect to publish a blog post "on" a certain date, this does exactly what is says on the tin. The site will automatically post your ugh - post - when your specified time elapses. Might be useful if you're asleep or at work when you want to announce/release a new song or fan-fiction? Maybe.

Can I have multiple blogs?
The short answer is no, you can't. You CAN share blogs with other members, however.
By using the following settings, found with the control panel: http://www.everypony.com/blogs/blog_usercp.php?do=groups
You can allow other EP members to post on your blog. Please only do this with caution.

Although by sharing blogs, it would be feasible to have "multiple" blogs - Say if Foxy made his blog community related, and I made my tech related, if we added each other, I could post on the "community" blog or my tech blog and Foxy vice versa.
