Okay, so, first off
SPOILERS
With that out of the way. If you're still here. Rarity Takes Manehattan is the seventy-third episode in the series and the eighth episode in season 4. And I gotta say, under my own impression this episode was oddly well done for a Rarity episode. It did something no other episode did as well; it showed how generous Rarity can be and how happy she can make her friends.
Rarity and the rest of the six were going to the city because of a fashion week event, which was taking place in the Big City. As they walked Rainbow Dash was admitting she was so psyched for this show Rarity was lucky enough to give them tickets to. All of a sudden we're shown to a fairly well done song sung by mostly Rarity. I watched the episode over all up to three times. As you may expect I am not really a big fan of Rarity episodes as of her lack of showing her Element. Now, sure episodes such as Suited For Success and the pilot pt.2 shown it. But, did it really?
Think of her making the dress like this: Rarity just wished to make her friends' dresses look good as not to look like Twilight's old dress. In oppose of just letting her friends wear what they wish she insists on making a totally brand new dress for each of them. Now, in a first thought she's being kind to them, however, think about it again and it just sounds as though she wants them not to embarrass her at the Grand Galloping Gala with the tacky dresses her friends wore such as Applejack's work-duds as she said.
In Rarity Takes Manehattan she is shown to be quite the gift-giver, as she randomly during the song and even out of song gives ponies what they need. Such as a scarf on the top of what I'll guess to be Mare Liberty or something like that. And she shows she has plenty gems to go around when she gives gems to the pony who simply didn't care about a tip, but, just wanted to help the white mare.
Though I did actually enjoy this episode more than other episodes that Suri Polomare is one of the deaths of that episode! And wait . . .

I smell a fanfiction (Not what you think). Anyway, back to the episode. When Rarity comes across Miss Polomare she complements her cloth of which Suri Polomare requests for some. When Rarity graciously hands her a roll of the cloth, and tells her "She has plenty more". On the next day of the week she finds her fabric which was supposed to be for something less than Polomare's whole fashion line. Which, was made by Coco Pommel an earth pony who worked for Polomare for a while.
Rarity accidently got all of her friends to help causing them to miss the show which RD looked forward to. When she saw they were not in sight she had to go to the train station, believing they had left to go back to Ponyville because of her less than great attitude. She meets up with them after the show and brings them to the show which they were promised. Only to find she needs to help with the designs for her friend's next show, causing her to not be able to go back to Ponyville. It's then they see Coco Pommel walk in and give Rarity the trophy which she deserved from the new fashion line.
By the end, since poor Pommel quit working for Suri Polomare Rarity offered the job of making the new costumes for her friend's new play. It ends with a totally new lesson! In base from what I could gather is: Be generous but, don't let someone (some-pony) take advantage of you because of your act of generosity. A
lesson that is common sure, but how often can I see an episode where Rarity actually had character development? Suited For Success I'll deal with later.
Okay, so, did I like it? Well, on the scale of it being a fair one or it being one of the best ones it has to be in the middle, Tabitha St Germain blew me away at her voice acting. I know her voice never truly changed aside from the different languages. Over all however, I say I'd liked it more than I'd admit to.
Now, I fair thee well. This has been Dizcord and the first review of season 4 for me! Goodbye.
