Progression

Well, been continuing my studies. I have until next week Tuesday to prepare for my Power Electronics exam. Yesterday was kind of a bust as I wrangled with the concept of the Boost Converter. In a nutshell, you place a DC power source at the input and it'll give you a higher DC voltage at the output. Sounds like magic? Well it's ot supposed to sound like magic to me since we're kinda diving into the inner workings of them. The reason why yesterday was a bust was because my approach to the boost converter was the same as the Buck Converter which gives you a lower voltage at the output without dissipating energy. (To clarify, if you try to regulate the voltage through resistance, you're dissipating energy.) Sparing you the details, today I found out why my approach was wrong and how to approach it right instead. My list of mistakes not to make for the exams keep piling up! Which is a good thing. I'm more likely to remember the frustrating endeavors rather than the easy ones I got right on my first try. Just gotta keep it consistent. By now I realize that I should limit my studying time each day so that I don't get burnouts. So far I'm able to maintain consistency with 4 study hours a day with 5 hours as the absolute maximum. When all is done, I could spend some time here with a clean conscience so it's kind of a win-win. Ultimately it's the grades that will be the final judge of how I did. If only I had realized this much sooner... Next semester I'm going to try 2 hours of schoolwork during the weekday and 4 hours of schoolwork in the weekends. Let's see how that goes.
