Heya, I'm Caberea, I think lots of stuff. Therefore I post stuff, but I'm not exactly good at keeping track of it. Cause track can be misspelt trach, and trach sounds like a shortening of trachea, and trachea is some sort of biology thingy i think. So because of that I'm doing a blog. Much hoof clapping should be ensuing at this point for no reason other than that I'm doing something, which is in itself an achievement. Hope you enjoys my randomness and leaves the commenty stuffs. 1. Cause I do, and it's given me a silly idea for a comic. You remember that sequence from Shrek about the muffin man? Imagine that with Lyra and Derpy, there you have the idea for the comic...except I can't draw, so I wrote it here so that you can picture the comic...if you get what that means.

I have no idea what im saying!!!

Okay, what I basically meant was something like follows.

Derpy: Lyra, Do you know the muffin man?

Lyra: The Muffin man?

Derpy: The Muffin man.

Lyra: Yes I know the muffin man.

Derpy: Who lives on Drury lane?

Lyra: Well...she's married to the muffin man.

Derpy: The muffin man?

Lyra: The Muffin Man!!!

Derpy: She's married to the muffin man...
2. You may think they're pretty much the same game if you haven't played them before. You hit coloured buttons in time with the music and stuff happens. Yet i find myself getting frustrated time and time again by Rock Band, whereas I've always loved playing Guitar Hero (Okay, I had trouble with Satch Boogie for quite a while, but that was it.)

Unlike what i did with Magic: The Gathering, and Yu-gi-oh, I'm not going to give you a rundown of how each game works, since they're pretty much the same in their essentials, but there seems to be a world of difference in functionality. However, I should note that I play both games on Expert (The hardest difficulty in the game) and for proof that I'm absolutely awesome at it (Even if the video quality is rubbish on this one):

So you know what, after being able to do THAT it shouldn't be a problem to do a simple song like No One Knows by Queens of The Stone Age on Rock Band 3...Right? WRONG!!! I was only able to get 84%, That's right, after having completed Through The Fire and The Flames, one of the hardest songs of all time and gotten 89% on it, I wasn't able to even achieve 90% on No One Knows...How the hell does this work?

Well I'll explain it, you see Guitar Hero has a bit more leniency in when you have to strike the note than rockband does. In Guitar Hero, you have about half a second to hit the note as it crosses that coloured line. In Rock Band, you have about a tenth of a second. Not only that, but Rock Band is a lot more punishing for every single mistake you make.

In Guitar hero, you can miss about a string of 20 notes before things will start going really bad for you (You'll be almost knocked down to the red part of your rock meter, meaning you're about to fail). However, in Rock Band (Or at least Rock Band 3) All it takes is a few misplayed notes and you lose. Not kidding, there was one song where I went from a full rock meter, to having lost the game, in roughly 1 SECOND!!! It wasn't even a difficult song, it's just that Rock Band is so freaking horrible when it comes to hitting notes on time that even the simplest songs can become your worst nightmare.

You know whats funny though. My experiences with Rock Band (Or at least Rock Band 3) Have been very mixed, namely dependent on how difficult the song is. The messed up part about it is, if we're thinking logically, I should be able to play the easy songs with, well...ease. Yet oddly enough, the easy songs are the ones I struggle with. Rock Band gives you a certain number of mistakes based on how many notes the song has in it before you fail. This means that on a song like crazy train, you've got about 15 mistakes before you fail. On a song like slow ride, you would have about 4. I can do Crazy Train, Beast and The Harlot, and Caught in a Mosh with absolute ease on Rock Band 3...Sure i can't get the 100% I did on Guitar Hero Greatest Hits, but I was still able to get 95% or higher on all of them.

So why the hell can't I do the same with No One Knows? (And I see you thinking of making that obvious pun, dont do it.)
3. I perform a cover of Omnipony and Aviators "Monster"

Hope you like it.
4. I'm not sure about you guys, but my Everypony was done for pretty much all of today. Along with my internet seeming to get down on its legs and start crawling. I am not kidding when i say that i spent one and a half hours waiting for a 5mb download to finish. No, i did not miss the keyboard and accidentaly hit m instead of g, it actuall took one and a half hours for just 5mb to download. This is with an internet that's supposed to be going at 1mb/s

I was so pissed off about this that I actuall did some calculations, and found that my internet was going at a whopping 925b/s or 0.1% of the speed it's supposed to be going at. The messed up thing is, everyone else on this internet connection is fine. I'm the only one thats having problems with the connection, and I have no idea what the hell's going on. I really don't want to have to resort to Plan: Shadow (Burn it till it surrenders), but unfortunately Plan: Hit it with a Hammer, had just as much success as plan: Poke it with a stick, and plan: Stick it with a Poke (Don't ask me how i did that last one, I dont know either).

The point is that this is probably the third time I've had to copy and paste this blog back up because I keep on losing internet connection when I try to post it.

In conclusion: Blargh
5. I couldn't help it, I heard that the game had updated and that i wasn't getting the full experience. How was i supposed to know that the full experience was 10 times more horrific than my previous one. That's right, I played Slender again, and realised I have no idea how to handle horror games. (Fun fact, the share video url for this begins with "fFuqK" which is an accurate description of what i was thinking the entire video)
6. So i finally worked up the courage to go to the dentist, and ended up playing Slender instead. The end result is this. Enjoy my pain...Please.
7. What do you get when you combine one of the scariest games I've played lately with one of the boringest assignments I've got. You get this:

Basically I crossed over Slender with an advertisment analysis assignment. Hope you liked.
8. Gosh that was long, I never thought that he would have such a big thing for them. Seriously, it took almost two hours before he was finished.

Of course I am talking about Magic: The Gathering (What did you think i meant?). My cousin has gotten really into it lately and has a ton of cards and loves to talk about them...and to use me as a guinea pig to test out his new decks. What i was referring to was that I got a call yesterday when i went on to check what new stuff had happened, and then i got a call from him.

He proceeded to talk to me about three of his decks, a task which took one and a half hours. Now i know I'm going to piss off a lot of people by saying this but, this is why i prefer Yu-Gi-Oh to Magic. I hate the current Yu-Gi-Oh Cards (Seriously, since 5'DS happened the cards have gotten way too strong) but nobody tries to defend those cards when I say that they're overpowered. Magic on the other hand, seems to have a fanbase that strongly believes that the old cards are just as good as the new ones. Would they please tell that to my 2005 decks which are now hideously underpowered?

I think that before I explain why both of these games have gotten to this point I should explain how they work. I'll start with the simplest. (If you already know the rules, feel free to skip them)

Yu-Gi-Oh
In Yu-Gi-Oh, both plays start of with 8000 life points. You have spell cards (Which can only be activated during your turn unless otherwise stated), Trap cards (Which can be activated on any turn other than the one you play them face-down), And then your bread and butter, Monster Cards.

At any time you may only have 5 Spell or trap cards total on your side of the field, (With one additional card called a field card, but we won't get into that), and 5 monsters total. The goal is to either bring the opponents deck-size or life points to 0. You can play your monsters in either face up attack mode, or face down defence mode (Once a monster is face up, it stays face up unless stated otherwise), and traps must be played face-down before you can use them. There are some basic rules to Yu-Gi-Oh which pretty much sum up all you need to play a basic game (They can be changed by certain card effects though).

1. You may only normal summon one monster per turn (Plenty of effects let you special summon monsters, which do not count towards this summon) Whereas you can place as many spell and traps you like (provided you dont have more than your maximum on the field)
2. When normal summoning a monster with 5-6 stars, you must tribute one monster on your side of the field to summon it, if hte monster has 7 or more stars, 2 tributes are required.

So what are these things about Stars you ask? Basically they're like a level, most monsters have a power relative to the number of stars they have, but this is pretty much all you need to know about the game.

Magic: The Gathering

In MtG, Both players start out with 20 life, as with Yu-Gi-Oh, the goal is to either reduce your opponents deck to the point where they cannot draw, or to reduce their life to 0. There are a couple of cards which turn loss conditions into win conditions though (Eg. A monster that means that if they couldn't draw a card and therefore lose the game, they win instead) So keep in mind that those these rules are how most games are played. It's pretty much possible for any of these rules to be turned on their head.

In Magic anythings power is determined by its mana cost, Every turn you are allowed to play a land which you can 'tap' (Rendering it unusable for the rest of the turn) to generate mana. A lot of creatures require a specific land, A fire symbol for their mana cost means they need a mountain land, and islands for water mana. There is also neutral mana cost, which means that any type of land will do.

End of Rules and stuff

In both of these I've only just skimmed the surface of the game (Because of 10,000 Character limit), but it should be sufficient for the purposes of why they've gotten Overpowered now.

Why They're Overpowered: Yu-Gi-Oh

First of all, I'm going to start with Yu-Gi-Oh, and one card in particular that's been bugging me. It's a little card which i believe is called, Red Archfiend Dragon, Or something to that affect. It has 3,500ATK, 3,000DEF, and is a 10 Star Synchro Monster. To summon a synchro monster the total stars of the monsters used for the fusion need to add up to the synchro monster's stars.

The thing is, despite how strong it is, nowadays it's possible to get out Red Archfiend Dragon on the very first turn. That's right, before the opponent has even made their move you can summon this.

Red Archfiend Dragon has 3,500ATK, and 3,000DEF. It's ability makes it immune to Spells, Traps, and Monster Effects. So basically what you've got here is a creature that can only be destroyed by battle, and has an attack power greater than any monster in the first generation of Yu-Gi-Oh. But wait, there's more. This monster gain 500ATK for each tuner monster in the graveyard (Synchro Monsters generally use tuners for their summons, which mans that he should be recieveing about 1,500 ATK from this, putting him at 5,000ATK right off the bat). Sounding pretty damn invincible. It gets better, When this monster battles with another monster, It can remove that monster from play before either monster would get destroyed.

In summary, using nothing but its own ability, this monster needs 2 monsters with over 5,000ATK to hit it on the same turn. And this is a creature that can be brought out first move. Now if that isn't overpowered, I don't know what is.

Why They're Overpowered: Magic The Gathering

Okay Magic, I was fine when you added in Artifacts, Even when you put in Undying creatures, but now you're really starting to eff with me. What shall I talk about first? I already mentioned that card that causes you to win when you would normally lose. How about this one there are two cards, which dont even cost that much mana, that if you can have active at the same time you instantly win the game.

This is what is called a loop, and there are quite a few of them in Magic. The example I know most about are two cards, one that deal damage to the opponent each time you get healed, and another that heals you each time you deal damage to the opponent. "But hang on Caberea? Dosen't that mean you get infinite health and every other player dies instantly?" Yes, Yes it does. Apparently, these spells are easily counterable. This is a blatant lie and anyone telling you this should be thrown into an insane asylum. You just try holding on to your mana or blocking these when you're opponents eyeing down your life every turn with their rush creatures or heavy damage spells.

There are a couple of incredibly strong cards I should point out. One of them is a 5/6 monster (This means that if it battles a monster or player it deals 5 damage to them, and can take 6 points of damage per turn...I knew I'd forgotten something earlier). That means that if you don't do something about it, then it can wipe out your entire life in four turns. This creature only costs three mana (Though two of them are waters) So don't expect to be able to combat it anytime soon. This creature also has flying, which means that unless your creature has flying or reach, it can't do anything to block this beastie.

The only downside to this creature is that in order to play it, you need at least three creatues in your graveyard to exile out of it. So whats the big deal? Hit it with a bunch of spells and watch it die...only to have it rise up again next turn because this card can BE PLAYED FROM YOUR GRAVEYARD.

Another creature that is more killable but a hell of a lot more annoying while its in play is a rather high cost card (Making it more fair since it costs 7 mana, 2 need to be fire, 1 needs to be light). This card has flying and first strike, which means that unless you have a creature with both flying (or reach) AND first strike (or double strike) This creature cannot be blocked. Its a 5/5 creature and while it is on the field all damage dealt to their opponent is doubled, while all damage dealt to them is halved...In other words, this creature can not only wipe you out in 2 turns by itself, but it also makes it nearly impossible to damage the opponent while its doing that.

Final creature I want to rant about from MtG, and this one i remember the name of. Primordial Hydra, its a creature that costs any amount of mana above 2. You need to play at least 2 forests to play it, and then any excess mana becomes its strength. Say if you used up 4 mana to play it, then it would have 2/2. Sounds pretty weak, but then its second ability comes in. At the beginning of each of your turns, this creatures power and toughness DOUBLE. That means that you can play this thing on the third turn, and by the sixth turn it will have 16/16, worst of all, once its power goes about 10/10 It gains the ability trample, which means that even if you can block it. Whatever damage wasn't blocked by your creature is still dealt to you as damage.

Oh yes, and every creature with undying is overpowered (Creatures with undying come back to life if killed without any boosts of 1/1 on them, and when they come back they get a 1/1 boost on them. This means that if you can find a way to remove it, your creature will never die.)

END OF UBER SLEEP DEPRIVED RANT

So I hope you have found my ranting entertaining at the last, until next time, Caberea out.

-----------------------------------

Is it just me, or has Caberea been forgetting about us in his blog posts lately?

You know I do believe he has been Cyan...Looks like I'm going to have to change that... (INSERT DRAMATIC MUSIC HERE)
9. That's right, now every week you can get your daily dose of Caberea....wait a second, that math sounds a bit off. Now with updated new years resolutions...that is to say that the ratio's fixed. Incorrect terminoligy for the win!

10. So I was planning to do a livestream at some point but then i actually checked it out and found i need money to do it. So instead I'm going to be doing an Audio Blog (Totally not copying off of ItsmeStella for this). So yeah, Telling you guys in advance about it, any suggestions and stuff as to what the heck I should do for it would be welcome.
11. I know Twilight does, but theres a certain book that might be best left out of her hooves, or anyone with Light in their name for that matter.

If you hadn't guessed it yet, I'm referring to the Death Note, and a fanfic which I'm working on called My Little Death Note. It is a ponyfied version of Death Note like Death Note: Equestria, but rather my crazy imaginings as to what would happen to Twilight, and by extension Equestria, if she got the Death Note (I've also pretty much done myself in with all the plot twists I've put in since its been three years since Twilight was last in Ponyville).

So I'm wondering if anypony here would be interested in reading it? If you feel like taking a little peek into what goes on in that crazy mind of mine, you can find the story here: http://www.everypony.com/forums/showthread.php?4862-My-Little-Death-Note Any feedback would be much appreciated.

Also, turns out i broke the character limit for this story, so expect the next part of it to be up once it goes through moderation.
12. So there was a thing in the general chat about the pony that we relate to most, and I realised I'm probably going to write way too much about it which is why I'm going to write about it here instead.

First of all, the character i most outwardly relate to is Pinkie Pie. Half the time people don't understand what I mean, or the reasons behind why I do something, and I also love to have fun and be with friends.

However, I always found myself relating to Rainbow Dash more because of the Sonic Rainboom episode. I myself suffer from quite a lack of self-confidence, a feeling that nobody is really going to notice effort that I've put into something and dismiss it as a poor attempt. As a result I hide it all under the guise of false bravado, deep down inside hoping that if I act as though it is important, then other people will see it as that too.

Then I have the more Applejack part of me, the one that's liable to put others before myself. Before i explain this any further i need to say one thing. Despite how much i like her, Twilight Sparkle is probably the pony i least relate to out of the mane 6. As the unofficial leader of the group, she's far more confident and sure of herself than I could ever hope to be, which brings me to why i feel I relate to Applejack too.

It's reached the time at my school where we choose whose gonna be prefects in year 12, and I'm one of the few students that didn't want to be a prefect (In fact, I'm the only person in my whole class). However, I have a friend that wants to be a prefect, and if that's what they want, then I'm going to do everything i can to help them.

On the way back from school today I also had my mother trying to crush my hopes of helping them become a prefect, constantly telling me that "Being a prefect is a popularity vote, you've got to be good at sports, good academically, and have a lot of people vote for you". She openly stated that she dosen't think my friend stands a chance at this, but I'm not going to let that stop me, no matter how hard I have to work, I'm going to help them become a prefect, no matter what.

Anyway, that was getting a bit off topic there, so in summary, the pony I most relate to is Pink-Apple-Dash.
13. So why is it that Caberea is bringing us back into this blog again?

Because he's ran out of ideas as to how to get people to look at it already

Oh yeah, that. So basically Caberea is currently trying to figure out something new to write about in his blog, since the most interesting thing he had to post earlier was that he found out about Soundcloud. In the meantime though, he's told us to advertise his youtube channel again since he feels it isn't getting enough love.

Well he hasn't updated it in about a week so...

Other channels have more views than mine and they don't update weekly.

Other channels are also a lot better at what they do than yours.

Lies, I deny all allegations.

Anyway, so if you could go and check out his channel (www.youtube.com/user/cabereawoof) while I stop Shadow and Cabe (Shortening of Caberea) from murdering each other, that would be great, bye
14. That's right, I've finally gone and made a Soundcloud account. What better place to put my overwhelmingly mediocre pieces of music that I shakily put together in an hour.

So if you're interested in hearing the sort of Gametrack-rock (Or whatever the heck it is I make), please check it out: http://soundcloud.com/Caberea

Oh and by the way. That song I'm making isn't among them, these are all just instrumental tracks at the moment.
15. It's true, I am a horrible singer. However, I have a habit of noticing that the stuff I can't do well, there are people here that can, so heres the plan. I'm going to do a song (Not that I'm incredibly good at other aspects of music either, I can just do them better than i can sing.), I will try to sing it, and then post up an audio track without my damned awful vocals mucking it up. The reason behind the vocal track? So that people can get an idea of what i wanted them to sound like but could never succeed in.

Oh, and i might have forgotten, it's an original pony Metal(ish) song.
