Three Year Brony Anniversary by dbzponyninja Written on ‎July ‎9, ‎2014


It's been three years now since I first became a Brony and even though i've both been a fan of multiple things throughout the years as well as still being a fan of multiple things throughout the years, being a Brony is the thing I enjoy being most especially since not only is My Little Pony Friendship is Magic a really good cartoon show enjoyed by people of all ages and both genders but also because the Brony fandom contains so many great and awesome fan made content from fan made music and fan made videos to well written and thought out fan fiction stories, that is why between the three shows that I used to be a fan of such as Power Rangers, Pokemon and Littlest Pet Shop which ironically I was only a fan of for a year and the shows that i'm still a fan of Rugrats, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, pretty much any superhero cartoon show that came out between the 1990's up until current superhero cartoon shows and a large amount of Anime shows i've never enjoyed being a fan of something as much as I enjoy being a Brony.

The episode begins with all six members of The Mane Six at The Crystal Empire were Princess Twilight Sparkle is supposed to smile and wave for the duke and duchess of some place that I forgot the name of while Princess Cadence, Princess Celestia and Princess Luna actually go and greet them and this makes Princess Twilight feel unhappy.

When we get back from commercial break Princess Twilight is questioning her self worth and what her role in Equestria as a princess is supposed to both be and mean which leads to the first song of the finale titled You'll Play Your Part and it's a song were all four princesses sing together and I really like this song especially since i've always wanted to hear Princess Luna sing since Season Two and now it's finally happened.

Anyway shortly after this a unicorn meets a mysterious cloaked figure who after introducing himself as Tirek steals not only the unicorn's magic but also his cutie mark as well.

Sensing this in the middle of the night while sleeping Princess Celestia wakes up in the middle of the night and Princess Luna also senses this and is concerned as well.


Then in the next scene after this Princess Celestia and Princess Luna tells Princess Twilight that when Cerberus escaped from Tartarus in the Season Two episode It's About Time it also lead to the escape of Tirek a centaur who can steal magic, she also went on to tell her that he and his brother Scorpan were very powerful and very dangerous however when Scorpan befriended Star Swirl The Bearded he warned all of the ponies of Equestria and Princess Celestia and Princess Luna banished Tirek to Tartarus and now has escaped and is once again wreaking havoc however when Princess Twilight offers to find and defeat him she tells her that she has already sent Discord to find and defeat him.


While on there way to the Castle of The Pony Sisters from both not only the two part Season One premiere episode but also the Season Four episodes Castle Mane-ia, Power Ponies and Inspiration Manifestion Discord shows up and tells them about his mission as well as questioning while Princess Twilight hasn't opened up the mystery chest from the two part Season Four premiere episode titled Princess Twilight Sparkle as he believes it will help Princess Twilight figure out her role as a princess and they all agree so while Discord is tracking down Tirek they go to The Castle of The Pony Sisters and attempt to look up information about the mystery chest.

However before Discord finds Tirek Applejack, Fluttershy, Pinkie Pie, Rainbow Dash and Rarity figure out that the items they got from ponies whose lives they wound up changing all through the Season will transform into keys and fly straight into the chest when they get near it and that Princess Twilight is the only one who does not possess a item that will transform into a key.

So despite the fact that he was reformed in the Season Three episode Keep Calm and Flutter On Discord comes face to face with Tirek who convinces him to go back to his evil ways and team up with him.

Shortly after this Princess Cadence, Princess Celestia and Princess Luna find out that Discord has betrayed not only them but all of Equestria as well so now realising that they have no other choice Princess Cadence, Princess Celestia and Princess Luna tell Princess Twilight that they have to give up their magic so that Tirek can't steal it especially since he has already done this to several unicorns already and somehow he has found a way to also stolen the pegasus ability of flight as well as the strength of earth ponies and since all four princesses are alicorns and they possess both unicorn horns and pegasus wings that means that he can steal both magic and the ability of flight at the same time and also what's even more dangerous about Tirek is that the more he steals of something from a pony he becomes bigger and stronger and that is how part one ends.


Then when part two begins Princess Cadence, Princess Celestia and Princess Luna tell Princess Twilight that rather than actually give away all of their magic they are going to give it to Princess Twilight and for some reason they tell her to keep it a secret from the other five members of The Mane Six and Spike however when Applejack, Fluttershy, Pinkie Pie, Rainbow Dash and Rarity notice that she can fly faster she acts like she doesn't know why she can fly faster even though she actually knows why however what is presumed to be several hours later Princess Twilight notices that the sun hasn't come up yet and that normally Princess Celestia would move Princess Luna's moon out of the way and put the sun up in it's place however since they can no longer do this she does it for them however it is revealed that all throughout Equestria that do to Princess Twilight's both new and heightened ability she has also involuntarily caused several ponies all throughout Equestria to levitate in mid air as well.

Then in the next scene Princess Twilight's older brother Shining Armor who is also Princess Cadence's husband get's his magic stolen and shortly afterwards Tirek comes face to face with Princess Cadence, Princess Celestia and Princess Luna however when he notices that for some reason they no longer have magic he simply banishes them to Tartarus however Tirek who is completly unaware of Princess Twilight's existence is told by Discord that Princess Twilight is still around and lives in Ponyville.


So Tirek goes to Ponyville and steals not only Rarity's magic, Applejack and Pinkie Pie's strength and Fluttershy and Rainbow Dash's flight and also turns on Discord as well and then shortly after this Princess Twilight literally flies right into Tirek's now giant sized self and teleports away however while attemping to hit her with a fireball he accidentally misses and destroys her and Spike's library treehouse and a now angry Princess Twilight fights him in a epic fighting sequence with a large amount of not only Anime refernces in general but Dragon Ball Z references as well and as a Otaku or Anime fan whose favorite Anime show is Dragon Ball Z I enjoyed every second of it.

Anyway since both Princess Twilight and Tirek are equally powerful Tirek makes Princess Twilight a deal that if she gives up all of her as well as Princess Cadence, Princess Celestia and Princess Luna's alicorn magic then he will return Twilight's friends who he has captured back to her and she agrees to this deal however even though he has betrayed all of Equestria for some reaon Princess Twilight also demands the release of Discord as well however Princess Twilight wasn't counting on this selfless act to earn her a item that will transform into a key so now that they have all the keys all six members of The Mane Six finally open the chest and defeat him using Rainbow Power which also adds rainbow stripes and stars to their manes and tails and also not only allows them to not only once again banish Tirek to Tartarus and free Princess Cadence, Princess Celestia and Princess Luna but to also return the stolen magic, flight and strength to everypony in Equestria as well.

The episode then ends with a castle magically appearing out of the ground from where Princess Twilight's library treehouse once was and her and all six members of The Mane Six sing Let The Rainbow Find You.


So what did I think of this episode well I enjoyed every moment and second of it from not only to Princess Luna finally singing in the show for the first time ever but also because not only because Discord was in the episode as well but we because Tirek was a awesome villain and most of all my favorite part of the episode was Princess Twilight vs. Tirek for reasons that were already mentioned so all in all it was a really good episode.

The episode begins with a train on the way to The Crystal Empire were all six members of The Mane Six, Spike, the three founding members of The Cutie Mark Crusaders plus Bulk Biceps, Thunderland, Derpy Hooves and a pegasus mare that I do not know the name of all doing a last work out so that they can prepare to compete in The Equestria Games which was first mentioned in the Season Three episodes Just For Sidekicks and Games Ponies Play and had two episodes before this one dedicated to it in Season Four in both the Season Four episode Flight To The Finish and Rainbow Falls.

When we get back from commericial break two Royal Guard crystal ponies grab Spike up and suddenly and unexpectidly bring him to both Princess Cadence and Princess Twilight Sparkle were Princess Cadence tells Spike while he is being pampered and served stuff that do to the fact that the last time he was at The Crystal Empire he saved The Crystal Empire from King Sombra he is a hero in the eyes of the crystal ponies and that Princess Cadence also wants him to be the one to light the ceremonial torch at The Equestria Games however right as he is about to do this his nerves get to the best of and he fails to do this so Princess Twilight while in the stands cast a spell that does Spike's job for him.

However before The Equestria Games begin we get a humorous scene were Spike thinks he can create fire with his mind while he is signing a autograph however Princess Twilight tells him that she was the one who lit the torch which causes him to walk away sad.

Anyway when the games begin Rarity is told that unicorns have to step through a gate that will temporarily turn their magic off so that they can't cheat for the contestants and also while Rainbow Dash, Fluttershy and Bulk Biceps are competing against The Wonderbolts in the first event of The Equestria Games Spike ask Miss Harshwinny if there is anything else he can do for The Equestria Games were she involuntarily gives him the idea to sing a song in front of the entire audience as well as the contestants and winners of the first event, Spike thinks he has to sing The Crystal Empire Anthem that he learned in the two part Season Three premire episode coincidentally titled The Crystal Empire however he is told by Shining Armor who is both Princess Twilight's older brother as well as Princess Cadence's husband that do to the fact that The Wonderbolts won the first event he has to sing The Cloudsdale National Anthem which he does know and humorously makes up words/ lyrics for and even though it starts out funny it quickly gets cringe worthy and face palm worthy.

Anyway there is another event after that but I forgot what it was and then shortly afterwards we get to the final event which is ice archery with a ice arrow that freezes the target however one of the contestants misses the target and accidentally hits a cloud which freezes the cloud and makes it start to come crashing down to the ground potinteally hitting all of the ponies on both the field and in the audience and all of the pegasi on both the field and in the audience try to hold it back in a effort to both stop it and slow it down but to no avail however Spike springs into action literally by jumping really high in the air and melting the frozen cloud with his fire breath.


All of The Mane Six and Princess Cadence congratulate him on this but he tells them that he did this without even thinking therefore giving Princess Cadence the idea to let Spike light the fireworks at the closing ceremony in her place which he succeeds at.

So what did I think of the episode well Spike had some really good and comedic moments in this episode and I was happy to finally see the Equestia Games being held since as I said before it was first mentioned in Season Three twice and had two episodes dedicated to it in this Season so all in all it was a very good episode.

The episode begins with Pinkie Pie announcing that today they are holding a fair for the fillies and colts in Ponyville however I forget what the name of this fair was called and Rarity builds a puppet stage for a unnamed stallion who looks like a adult version of Snips's could this be his father perhaps however said pony get's mad at Rarity when he can not use said puppet stage.


When we get back from commerical break Rarity is seen crying back at Carousel Boutique were she both lives and works at while eating ice cream and Spike tries to cheer her up but to no avail so he goes to the same castle located in the Everfree Forest that was visited in not only the Season Four episodes Castle Mane-ia and Power Ponies but also on the very first two part Season One premiere episode of the show as well were he finds a weird and mysterious spell book and brings it back to Rarity when she opens up and reads it she finds the Inspiration Manifestation spell which will bring all of her ideas back to life and it does just that when she is able to finish and do her next fifteen seasons worth of clothes in hardly anytime at all.

In several scenes after that Rarity decides to change and improve Ponyville without anypony knowing however my favorite part about this other than seeing the spell drive Rarity crazy similiar to when The Alicorn Amulet drove Trixie crazy back in the Season Three episode Magic Duel is when she magically summons Octavia and her band at a child's birthday party especially since Octavia hasn't been seen or made a appearance in the show since the Season Two episode Sweet and Elite so yeah it was great seeing Octavia again.

In the next scene after this Spike realises that he has to be truthful with Rarity and tell her that she's not acting like her usual self however he is afraid to do this as he is afraid that she will be angry at him and somehow this will cause Rarity to not want Spike as a friend anymore so instead he goes around and follows her giving her subtle hints that she's not acting like her usual self and should stop trying to change and improve Ponyville however this doesn't work and when she's not looking he straight up eats the spell book that's right you heard me he eats the spell book, however for some reason Rarity has not turned back to normal so he tells her the truth and not only does this somehow turn her back to normal and she doesn't remember what happened but when he tells her everything that happened today Rarity tells Spike that she is happy that he was truthful with her and that she would never be angry at him for being truthful to her and that she would never stop being friends with him.

The episode ends with Princess Twilight Sparkle finding out about everything that Rarity and Spike did today and her telling Spike never to take another spell book or a book of anykind from the castle in the Everfree Forest without her knowing especially since the spell book that Spike took in the first place contained several dark magic spells.


So what did I think of the episode well I really enjoyed the episode especially since it was a Rarity episode and I liked not only seeing Rarity go crazy but also enjoyed seeing Octavia again plus I find it hillarious how Spike just up and ate the spell book so all in all it was a very good episode and I enjoyed watching it with my friend Josh Thomas even though he's seen several episodes of the show before despite not being a Brony like me.

The episode begins with all six members returning to Rainbow Falls for the second time this Season however this time they are going to a trade exchange fair which Princess Twilight Sparkle will be the host of.

Then when we get back from commercial break Applejack and Rarity as well as Fluttershy and Rainbow Dash go together to look for the items they want to buy while Spike goes off to trade a old Power Ponies comic which was first seen and mentioned in Season Four Episode Six Power Ponies while Princess Twilight sets up a book stand to trade and get rid of some books that she doesn't want in her library treehouse anymore while Pinkie Pie stays with her for some reason.

Rainbow Dash wants to trade a rusty horseshoe for a first edition copy of a Daring Do book but the pony at the Daring Do stand isn't interested in the horseshoe and instead wants to trade the book for a Orthos which is similar to a Cerberus however instead of being a three headed dog a Orthos is a two headed dog. Anyway Rarity wants to trade all the stuff she brought with her to get a brooch which looks similiar to a brooch she already owns and Applejack wants to trade all the stuff she brought with her to get a vintage pie tin and both ponies try to convince each other that these items are not worth trading for but to no avail.


Now back to Rainbow Dash and Fluttershy in order to get the Orthos a pony wants to trade the Orthos for a Discord Lamp and in order to get the Discord Lamp they have to trade it for a antique chicken statue and in order to get the antique chicken statue Rainbow Dash for her old rusty horseshoe however when they get back to the Daring Do stand the pony in charge isn't interested in the Orthos anymore however Fluttershy shows the pony in charge that despite his scary apperance a Orthos can be quite sweet when both trained and treated nicely however upon seeing this the pony in charge of the Daring Do stand wants Fluttershy to come back with her to Manehattan so that Fluttershy can help her train her new pet Orthos and despite being happy and overjoyed at first Rainbow Dash accepts this offer only to regret her decision mere moments later, so Rainbow Dash go finds Princess Twilight and convinces her that this wasn't a fair trade so Rainbow Dash get's Fluttershy back as well as the Orthos which mere moments later they trade for the bird call whistle that Fluttershy wanted the very moment she came to the trade exchange fair.


So what did I think of the episode well I always like seeing a creature from Greek Mythology making apperances in this show so I really liked the Orthos as well as the hydra in the Season One episode Feeling Pinkie Keen and Iron Will the Minotaur in the Season Two episode Putting Your Hoof Down and the Cerberus in the Season Two Episode It's About Time so this episode is very good in my opinion so all I all I really like this episode.

The episode starts with Applebloom, Applejack, Big Macintosh and Granny Smith swimming in a pond well except for Granny Smith who tells Applebloom, Applejack and Big Macintosh that she used to swim and high dive when she was younger however now she's afraid to swim, then shortly after this Applebloom is scared out of the water by a shark however it turned out to be Big Macintosh with a shark fin hat on his head.

Anyway when we get back from commercial break Applebloom, Applejack, Big Macintosh and Granny Smith go to a tent when they are several injured ponies with bandages and crutches hear music coming from the tent anyway upon arriving in the tent we see Flim and Flam who haven't been in a episode since Season Two who are both talking as well as singing about their new invention the cure all tonic which they say can not only heal any injury but also any sickness and make you feel young again then after hearing the young again part Granny Smith buys a bottle of cure all tonic.

Then shortly afterwards Applejack, Applebloom and Big Macintosh are seen swimming again and are surprised to see Granny Smith swimming as well then when asked about how she's able to swim again she tells them "When I drank that tonic suddenly I wasn't afraid to get in the water and swim again so I jumped right in."

Then shortly after that Applebloom and Applejack go back to Flim and Flam's tent again only to see the pony from the tonic's first demonstration again so they chase him and corner him, he then introduces himself as Silver Shill and after noticing the props and wigs around him she figures out that he is a part of their scam and chases him again but this time back to the tent where Applejack confronts the Flim Flam Brothers and they tell her that while the tonic is nothing more than beet leaves and apple juice Granny Smith and all of the various ponies they gave the tonic to are happier and healthier so what's the harm and she reluctantly agrees and goes back home to the Sweet Apple Acres barn with Applebloom.

However the next day Applebloom and Granny Smith are swimming together at a pool and Applejack is horrified to see Granny Smith about to jump off a high dive and she is able to stop her at the last second where she tells both Granny Smith and all the citizens of Ponyville that the tonic is a fake but she hopes that that won't prevent Granny Smith from swimming.


Anyway Silver Shill gives Applejack a gold coin and the episode ends with her writing another journal entry in the shared journal that all six members of The Mane Six have been writing in since Season Four Episode Three Castle Mane-ia.


So what did I think of the episode well similarly to when Sapphire Shores made her second appearance in the show last week or when Trixie made her second appearance in the show back in the Season Three episode Magic Duel I like seeing characters return to the show again however in the case of Flim and Flam who are commonly referred to as The Flim Flam Brothers even though I still like the characters in this episode I liked them more in the Season Two episode Super Speedy Cider Squeezy 6000 but other than the return of Flim and Flam I thought that the rest of the episode was just ok so all in all it was just a ok episode.
