Sorry for the long delay. I was dealing with bizarre internet/YouTube issues that was stressing me out. Either way I finally got around to playing this game again and finished up Terra's story. Terra's determined to get revenge. WHICH I'M SURE WILL END WELL. The fights were a little on the annoying side but I got through them all. Terra revealed the truth to Aqua and Aqua seemed... surprisingly okay with it. Ventus shows up and we get to hear the "x-Blade" for the first time. What the heck is it anyway? I don't think we've really been told that yet? Anyway Xehanort and his crony, I mean Vanitas, show up. SHOWDOWN TIME. The fight begins and eventually Terra ends up fighting both Xehanort and Vanitas. Somewhat annoying but I come out victorious. NOOOOOOOOOOOO VEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!! *fights Xehanort* Also annoying, but I once again win. Terra's anger gets the best of him and Xehanort transfers his heart to him. So... yeah... Lingering Will vs Terra-Xehanort. WORST FIGHT IN THE GAME. ANNOYING AS HELL. However I somehow come out victorious. Though I'm not really sure you can call that ending a "victory..." Terra's Story complete. I had extra time so I started over, re-did the tutorial, and choose Ventus this time. Yay? My experience with this game made me do better in the Orb of Light fight. Still annoying though. We also get to meet Vanitas who tells Ventus that Terra will be different when Ventus sees him again. I'M SURE THAT'S TOTALLY A LIE, NOT THE TRUTH, AND NOT FORESHADOWING AT ALL. Ventus chases after Terra and eventually runs away from home. YES. THIS IS WHAT YOU SHOULD DO VENTUS. *sighs* There's LOTS more of this game left. Next time: Ventus story mode truly begins as I abuse Command Board a lot. Apparently Dwarf Woodlands is the first area with Ventus. So maybe that too.
Xehanort 'tells' Terra that Ventus somehow found out the truth and went to confront Eraqus about it. Terra quickly rushes to his aide. BECAUSE I'M SURE THAT'S TOTALLY WHAT'S GOING ON. *reluctantly goes* WHAT THE?! ERAQUS IS ATTACKING VENTUS?! Okay... seriously... WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON?! *sighs* *inevitable Master vs Student battle begins* So... the Eraqus battle. I had to heal a couple of times but Shotlock abuse as well as Sonic Blade abuse results in eventual victory. I'm... unsure how satisfied I should be with this... Then... TRUE MOTIVES REVEALED. Xehanort pretty much strikes down (kills) Eraqus. GOOD JOB TERRA. The Land of Departure then becomes the "Land of a Destroyed World" SCREW YOU TOO XEHANORT. Terra rushes off to confront Xehanort at the "Keyblade Graveyard" OH YEAH. NOW YOU FINALLY REALIZE IT. *sighs* Oh well. I did some Sticker gathering too after this for the ones I couldn't get the first time around. I'm only missing one. Which is apparently in the final area. Next time: Terra ENDGAME and final boss fights. Perhaps all of them perhaps only some of them. Either way I'm pretty much at the end of Terra's story. BTW... I'm not doing Mirage Arena. I'm just nowhere near confident enough in my abilities at this game to even try that. It's called a "Sidequest" and/or "Optional Area" for a reason after all. So I won't be doing it. It's good to abuse it in the early game to get the character over-leveled but after that I'm not touching it. Sorry? Also... I still haven't tried Mega Flare yet. Which means I might have an idea as to how to handle the final boss fights: MEGA FLARE MEGA FLARE MEGA FLARE MEGA FLARE MEGA FLARE MEGA FLARE MEGA FLARE Get it? We'll see how that works out for me though... *slightly worried* You can give me Terra final boss fight strategy suggestions if you feel like it though.
Exploration inevitably leads to Hook and Smee leaving Terra to guard the so-called 'chest full of light' Not surprisingly, Peter Pan shows up. FIGHT WITH A DISNEY HERO. It wasn't that difficult honestly. I had another Sonic Blade so I pretty much won by abusing that again. The chest is dropped by those two Lost Boys and Terra discovers that it was just a regular chest. WOW. HE WAS FOOLED AGAIN. SUCH A SHOCK. As Terra leaves the two Lost Boys are in danger so Terra comes to the rescue and takes out lots of Unversed. Then... DESTINY ISLANDS. CHIBI RIKU AND SORA. Not surprisingly, Terra's only interested in Riku and sort of 'passes' his keyblade on to the kid Riku. Well I guess that explains a little of why Riku was tempted by darkness? I guess? After that cutscene extravaganza he's summoned by Xehanort again. YES. I'M SURE WHATEVER HE IS ABOUT TO SAY IS TOTALLY THE 100% TRUTH. Next time: Getting close to the end of Terra's story. Unfortunately... that also means I'm getting close to the point in this particular story that practically makes everything turn for the worst. GOOD JOB TERRA. GOOD JOB.
I would have posted this yesterday but I didn't have time. Terra arrives in Never Land and assists the villains AGAIN. But they were being attacked by Unversed so it would have been cruel to just let them die. I guess? Terra continues to show his stupidity by believing Hook when he tells him that the treasure chest he found is full of light and a boy named Peter Pan is after it. So, being the idiot that Terra continues to be, he agrees to assist in protecting it from said Peter Pan. The world is actually pretty big. So it took awhile for me to explore everything. What I accomplished however is... MEGA FLARE. I haven't tried it out yet, but, do I win the game now? Next time: Terra continues to be villain-ish and fights a Disney hero that he thinks is a villain because he's an idiot.
Two days in a row!! A new record!! Anyway... I seriously love Mkaukau. I could probably listen to it all day. 626 is found and 'rescued.' However, Terra's keychain thing is taken and he wants it back, which shocks him. He tries to reason with 626 but Jumba says he doesn't know what friends are and only destroys. 626 drops it and Terra gets his keychain thing back. Jumba throws another Experiment at Terra. REALLY?! THIS IS THE THANKS I GET FOR BREAKING YOU OUT OF JAIL?! Fine. *fights* It wasn't too ridiculous. Ridiculous at times but I won so that's really all that matters. 626 comes back and seems to want to know what 'friends' are but Terra only says that he'll know what they are when he has one. Jumba continues being a scientific jerk saying 626 won't understand. That was all. I tried out the Deep Space Command Board and won but it takes quite awhile to complete. Oh well. That's all I did unfortunately. At least I have time to play it. Next time: I 'fly' off to Never Land. Get it? Okay that was bad and I should feel bad.
Wow. It's been awhile. Blame early morning work hours and having to go set up a checking account. Anyway... hopefully I can start doing this consistently now that I'm working my regular normal part-time hours. However, because its way early, there may still be sporadic updates. My issues besides... let's talk about game stuff. Olympus Coliseum. Hades doing his normal manipulation as always. Why would that change? Coliseum Battles. I tried to Shotlock my way through it and it didn't go well. But I won on my second attempt. Then we have Zack... Who reminds Terra of himself when Hades uses darkness to control him. Both Zack battles are won with slight Sonic Blade abuse. The second fight being the more annoying one. Zack ensures Terra that he's a "hero" because he's getting applause. Though there's still the whole 'manipulated by Xehanort' thing... but... sure Zack. He's a hero. Then we have Deep Space a.k.a. the Stitch world that introduces fighting on the Keyblade Glider. I don't do too horribly at that and Terra gets imprisoned but then breaks out quickly. Thanks Keyblade. You just assisted in a prison escape. He helps some scientist break out too because he tells Terra he has an experiment called 'Experiment 626' that could help him take out the Unversed, so Terra being Terra, agrees and breaks him out. The Deep Space world is pretty much best world. Not because I like the Lilo & Stitch stuff (though it is good...) it's mostly due to the music. Particularly the battle theme. Even the normal theme is pretty decent. But the best part is the battle theme. Allow me to prove it to you... Spoiler I could do this world all the time with a battle theme like this... Next time: More Deep Space, more Mkaukau, more 'Experiment 626' searching, and more fun. This game is seriously starting to grow on me. I'm getting decent abilities, decent commands, and I seem to finally be getting the hang of this game. Hopefully I'll play it again sooner than last time. Hopefully.
Disney Town... Apparently... all I had to do was stop Pete by participating in a race that seems to be similar to Mario Kart or something. I win on my first try. That seems to "clear" Disney Town but I kind of doubt it. I clearly remember some scene where the character your playing as gets some sort of trophy for being the best Disney Town citizen that I think was unlocking by clearing all the mini games. At least I think that's what I remember when I first was exposed to this game in Let's Play format. But maybe I'm wrong? I'm just unsure on how exactly your supposed to get that scene. Does anyone know? Let me know if you do. I fully explore Disney Town after that. All of a sudden, thanks to having Sonic Blade, I pretty much win most battles soundly. The Command Board for Disney Town is relatively easy too. I've pretty much won every game I play on that board. I'm not sure if that means I'm getting better at Command Board or if that one is just the easiest one. Either way I'm getting AMAZING commands now like Blitz, Aerial Slam, Sonic Blade, Firaga, Blizzaga, Magnega, Curaga, etc. I'm even able to obtain Second Chance and Once More. Does this mean I win?! It doesn't... does it...? Next time: I have no idea how to get the citizen trophy scene in Disney Town. Let me know how to get that. Until then... I might do Olympus Coliseum next. Maybe.
Terra continues his search for Master Xehanort, who has apparently been captured by Braig/Human Xigbar. YES. I'M SURE THAT'S WHAT HAPPENED AND THEY ARE TOTALLY NOT WORKING TOGETHER OR ANYTHING. Eventually Braig is confronted with Xehanort chained to a large post. Right... So... the Braig fight. Once again I probably wasn't using the best commands for it. Plus, I completely forgot about my shotlock. I seriously need to remember that that's there... It was quite annoying. I had to heal quite a bit. But my persistency paid off with an eventual victory. I guess that's really all that matters. It doesn't matter how you win, as long as you win. Terra's darkness comes out again and several injures Braig. That's what you get? Xehanort flat out manipulates Terra and calls him "Master Terra" and calls Eraqus a fool that is "obsessed with light" YES. THIS IS TOTALLY NOT SUSPICIOUS AT ALL. He once again tells Terra to observe more worlds, get rid of the darkness, and get rid of Vanitas. Terra just kind of... bows to him. WELP. GUESS I'M PLAYING A VILLAIN NOW. OH I JUST FEEL SO LUCKY. Next time: Annoying, Hard, Ridiculous, RAGE INDUCING world. That's right everyone!! It's time for Disney Town!!
I explore Radiant Gardens. At times I do okay against the enemies, at other times I don't. It goes back and forth like this. Then there was the Trinity Armor boss fight... Well... I was doing okay at first. But near the end I started getting beat up quite a beat. Somehow, I managed to come out victorious, however, it certainly wasn't "perfect." Terra, Aqua, and Ven have a falling out after this. Well... that... didn't take long... Terra's seriously a jerk. I want to smack him. I've been trying to get Second Chance and Once More to help me but I don't think I have the necessary crystal thing. Yeah... this is going to be a LONG game... Next time: How will I fare against Braig/Xigbar human? My guess? Not well...
So... I fight the mirror. Unbelievably easy. I win soundly. Terra gets Xehanort info but it's more like a riddle than info... Terra decides to seek wisdom from Yen Sid. It's eventually determined that Xehanort and the Unversed are connected. GEE YA THINK? Then... somehow... Xehanort somehow contacts Terra and wants to meet with him. NOPE NOPE NOPE NOPE. *sighs* *reluctantly visits him* BTW... The Badlands world looks suspiciously like the Pride Lands. Is that on purpose or something? Xehanort gives Terra a sob story about something horrible he did. Which, basically, was to take the darkness out of Ventus to save him and created the 'mask boy' that people are claiming to see control the Unversed, named Vanitas. Terra assures Xehanort that he'll stop him. YES BECAUSE I'M SURE HE'S TOTALLY TELLING THE TRUTH. Radiant Gardens is started as well. Ah... Scherzo Di Notte is good in ALL games. It's called 'Black Garden' in Birth By Sleep but it's still AMAZING. Unfortunately... the enemies give me trouble. Mostly the exploding ones. *sighs* I guess I'm back to sucking at this game again... Merlin is also visited because he dropped the 100 Acre Wood book. DEAR GOD NO. Whew. It's just a Command Board this time. Which I'll NEVER win because jerk Tigger abuses Two Dice hand. I got Sacrifice though. Yay? Next time: More 100 Acre Wood Command Board. More Radiant Garden. Struggling with the enemies makes me think I'm not ready for Trinity Armor. *sighs* This is going to be a LONG game...
I continue and journey through a maze of complicated waterways where you have to go through them quickly or start all over. I didn't do very well with that so I ended up having to just clear the whole area of Unversed before I was finally able to do it. Snow White is met and isn't afraid of Terra but runs like a scared little girl when the Unversed show up. Classy. I also obtained Fission Firaga which is apparently the key to getting an "Ultimate Command" (according to my walkthrough anyway) called Mega Flare. I do remember that from the Let's Play I watched though. I'll try my best to get it however I still need to get the Mine commands plus there are other stuff I still don't have. Aerora, Blizzaga, etc. I need those Mine commands too. Another boss is coming up so hopefully I can survive that too. Suggest Mine commands if you feel like it. Next time: Fighting a mirror apparently.
Okay... Wheel Master was... annoying. But it was the first boss and I wasn't exactly used to this game yet. Somehow, eventually, I come out victorious. Terra only seems to care about finding "Master Xehanort" and why he's trying to destroy the light. Yes... that will go well for you I'm sure. I got Ragnarok which is apparently a better Shotlock for Terra and equipped it. After using it a little I can see why. I also tried out Mirage Arena and FAILED miserably. So I moved on. Castle of Dreams. Crying Cinderella. Terra tries to make her feel better. More Unversed fighting. Terra has to do a escort mission with Cinderella to get her to the ball. Right... that's... great... It was annoying but somehow it only took me one try. At this point... I started getting decent commands like Magnet, Aero, Zero Gravira, Cure, etc. Cinderella has her "moment" at the ball. Goodie? But there are more Unversed. Terra chases them down. Next boss. Symphony Master. Well... it went much smoother. I did considerably better and won relatively easily. He meets up with Aqua and finds out Ventus ran away from home. WHICH I'M SURE COULDN'T POSSIBLY GO WRONG IN ANY WAY WHATSOEVER. He continues to chase down Xehanort while Aqua investigates Castle of Dreams. I try the Cinderella Command Board and actually... win a few games. One opponent is easier to deal with than two. I'm getting shocking commands too. Like Zero Graviga and Thundaga. So... it looks like I might be getting used to this game and getting the hang of it. I need to get those Mine commands though that I saw from the Let's Play. I started Dwarf Woodlands too. Terra plays the jerk again and agrees to kill Snow White in exchange for information on Xehanort from the Magic Mirror. WAIT WHAT?! I think I've finally realized what the "point" of the Command Board is. It's less about "winning" and more about leveling up your extra commands. Next time: Terra's... not really going to become a murderer... right? He is isn't he...? Also give me suggestions for the best way to make the Mine commands if you feel generous.
Actually playing. I enter the first world and fight Unversed. I did... okay?! Hmm... how long will this last? I explore a little and chase after the Unversed until... OH GOODIE. MALEFICENT. Terra is seriously an idiot. WHY WOULD YOU BELIEVE ANYTHING SHE SAYS?! *sighs* Whatever. I explore some more, fight some more, somehow don't die, and get a few new commands too. I quite like Zero Gravity. Maleficent eventually tries to get Terra to help her and... well... even though he says no he kind of does anyway because Maleficent "unlocks" Terra's dark power. Yeah... this is starting out great. Maleficient again tries to get Terra to "join" her and he refuses obviously. Eventually, the castle shakes. OH GREAT. I SENSE A RIDICULOUS BOSS INCOMING. Afterwards, I try out the Command Board some more. I SERIOUSLY SUCK AT IT. I KEEP LOSING. I've only won a few times and I'm fairly sure it was because of luck. But at least I got Ragnarok and Magnet out of it. I really don't know what I'm doing with the Meld Command stuff either. I still feel like I'm doing HORRIBLY at this game. I tried the boss... and... I got my ass kicked. I didn't technically lose... but... I certainly wasn't doing well. So I quit to start over. Of course I forgot to save so I had to do some stuff over. Yeah... I've barely started and this game is already a pain in the ass. SOMEONE PLEASE GIVE ME ADVICE. OR I'M GOING TO HAVE A BAD TIME. Next time: Wheel Master with Terra again. HOW MANY TIMES WILL I DIE?!
I start up Birth By Sleep. I get a weird and very confusing introduction where a seemingly soulless Ventus is put on a tree in Destiny Islands by jerk Xehanort. Um... what? He gets a Keyblade. O... kay... Then all of a sudden it's like none of that happens and I get introduced to the game and its play style. HOW MANY GAME OVERS WILL I RECEIVE?! Start your guessing now. Aqua surprises Ventus similar to how Kairi surprised Sora in KH1. Eventually Terra shows up and they talk about... stuff until eventually they decide to spar. I tried out each character and did a few characters multiple times because I wasn't pleased with my previous results. I don't know if it'll help. Terra and Aqua have a Mark of Mastery exam upcoming and Ventus thinks they'll do fine. I'm sure they will? CHOOSE YOUR CHARACTER!! This isn't Smash Bros... *chooses Terra* Mark of Mastery exam. Oh goodie. JERK XEHANORT. The Balls of Light go rogue so their fought. I... don't do very well but I win. I CAN SEE HOW THIS IS GOING TO GO ALREADY. Aqua passes, Terra fails. Terra gets "advice" from Xehanort. NOPE NOPE NOPE NOPE NOPE That's all I did. On to the first world. Where I shall receive an amount of Game Overs that I won't be able to keep track of. Next time: Enchanted Dominion. Command Board. I'M SERIOUSLY GOING TO SUCK AT THIS GAME.
To be completely honest... beating Lingering Will is good enough for me. That's an accomplishment in amongst itself. I'm struggling with Data Org. 13 and I would prefer not to spend 50+ attempts on 13 more bosses. So I would like to move on to Birth By Sleep Final Mix. However... I've never dealt with this game before. EVER. I watched a let's play of Birth By Sleep on YouTube but that's all I've been exposed to it. I've never played it before. So, basically, I have no idea how to handle it. Like AT ALL. So... how should I handle it? I still want to play Normal/Standard mode. What are the best commands for each character? How do I decrease command "reload" times? Also... how should I do this game? Should I do one character at a time or all characters at once? I just need general Birth By Sleep advice and tips since I've never played this game before. Give me advice/tips if you feel generous. Next time: Birth By Sleep Final Mix. I'm afraid for my life.
