Here is where I'll put my musings. Not sure how much pony content you can expect to see on here, but chances are not a huge amount. Most likely I'll just supply music I trip across in my wanderings around the internet, any interesting things that have happened to me, and maybe some humorous moments in tabletop RP's with friends.

  1. Alright, so here's my introductory blog post here on Everypony Network. I'll just give kind of a loose idea of a potential layout, and would appreciate feedback on what everypony thinks about it. So, here goes! Ready for the madness?

First section: Song of the Day!

I found this lovely gem thanks to a band I have Liked on Facebook. So this is a scintillating sneak peek at the style of music you can expect in the upcoming Devil May Cry game being released in 2013. I have to say, even though I haven't played any games in the series, I'm going to rent this one just to get a feel for it. At the very least, the soundtrack looks incredibly promising. The two bands that have been chosen to make the soundtrack are Noisia and Combichrist. I'm a super fan boy of Combichrist, and have enjoyed some of the songs I've heard from Noisia. If you saw the trailer for this game already, that's a song from Combichrist titled "Sent To Destroy," which you can find on their album Today We Are All Demons. That isn't the song of the day for today though. Instead, we're focusing on the sneak peek song that Noisia has released for the game. I have been giving this piece many listens, and I just can't get enough. If the game ends up being a dud, at least it will be a dud with a stellar soundtrack that will be worth picking up. So, here's the song of the day!

Second section: Quote of the Day!

"A CURSE ON YOUR UNMEMORABLE FACES! I mean...uh...so...how about this weather? Shoes, huh? I wear shoes, too. We have so much in common." - Jhonen Vasquez

(Honestly thinking about dropping this section off, as I would be boring you all with lots of Jhonen Vasquez most likely).

    Third Section: Main Entry (finally)!

I would be curious to know how long all of you feel this should be. Is a few paragraphs long enough to keep you entertained, but short enough to keep from boring you? Or does it matter more on content? I was debating writing about my week long trip to Michigan, along with my ideas of a few of the movies I rented the past couple days. I didn't want to make anything super lengthy, and I'm also on a bit of a time crunch right now to get this finished before I go volunteer. So for this one, I'll just talk about those movies I rented.

Tuesday night I watched a movie by the title of Jeff, Who Lives At Home. The synopsis on IMDB reads as such: "
Dispatched from his basement room on an errand for his mother, slacker Jeff might discover his destiny (finally) when he spends the day with his brother as he tracks his possibly adulterous wife." I overall have to say I enjoyed this movie. It's rare that you find a down to earth movie that has believable characters with major flaws just trying to get by in life. I felt that this made the movie a bit more relatable than say, a horror or scifi film. There was a nice mix of comedy, poignancy, and emotional meltdowns which were all well acted. I would recommend this as a rental for sure.

Last night I saw the movie that swept the Oscars, The Artist. The synopsis on IMDB reads: "
Silent movie star George Valentin bemoans the coming era of talking pictures and fades into oblivion and self-destruction, but finds sparks with Peppy Miller, a young dancer lighting up talkies like no one else." For those of you who have seen silent films or talkies will rejoice at this great homage to that era. For those who haven't seen either, this is a nice taste of what they're all about. I really enjoyed this movie, and can see why it did so well at the Oscars. It's amazing the emotion and expression the actors and actresses convey without having a chance to hear what they're saying. This is a must rent movie, and I would consider buying it.

So, that's a rough idea of how I'm thinking this blog will go. Any ideas or recommendations will be appreciated and duly noted. If I don't get any, then I'll just continue to ramble and make long winded blog entries like this one. If you're ok with that and would prefer to just see what random thing I might talk about, then mention so in the comments. If I don't get any comments, then you're all just going to be taken along for a ride through my mind on my whim.

    Have a good week(end) everypony!
