I've liked Southpark in the past. As some said it is hit or miss with them. I've found that in the better episodes there is actually a positive message behind all the twisted humor. I will very much want to see the Brony episode of this. I am not surprised they are doing it. I expect they will make fun of Bronies quite a bit, but I also think they are going to shine a positive light on it in the end.
If the producers are bronies, and the show takes off again.... We have the power to crush the world, by the power of pony!
well, this will be interesting. Actually, I remember that they did something simmilar before. they had episode about Pokemon, and they made it like everykid was a fan, but turned out that was japanese brainwosh for perl harbor. anywho, it'll be interesting, as ex south park fan, I'll give it a chance.
I love South Park. It may be sexist, racist, etc. but that's what kind of humour I enjoy (yes, I know I'm guilty). For those who think it will be taken seriously, it won't. No-one, in real life, has ever tried to: -Freeze themselves so they can play on a Wii -Keep their friend in a nuclear bunker so they can go to a theme park -Kill Jesus (well not in the last 2000 years anyway) -Put a rabbit as the head of the Catholic Church -Teach sex education to kindergarteners -I could go on... I hope South Park doesn't become reality or else we are all screwed.
If it does come to be. Its at least saying that we're reaching out to different medias. Then again, this is south park. They take anything and twist it beyond exaggeration.
Remember the ginger episode? I hadn't even heard someone be called a ginger before that point, but after that episode its become part of society. Their insane stuff obviously wont catch on, due to being slightly impossible, but they have the power to sway the opinions of a huge amount of people. Just hope they end on a positive note.
If it ends up poking fun at us or downright insulting is so be it. We can take a hit, and it gives us a chance to prove who we really are. If they put us in a negative light, we'll shrug it off and move on. Not to cause offense but I think this can be applied with some alteration "Blessed are [you], when men shall hate you, and when they shall separate you [from their company], and reproach you, and cast out your name as evil, for [Celestia's] sake....But I say unto you that hear, Love your enemies, do good to them that hate you, bless them that curse you, pray for them that despitefully use you." Luke 6:22-28
SP is grate... the WoW Episode was hilarious, I didnt felt offended and i played WoW for 6 years! Maybe they take the whole Derpy disaster and make an episode about how stupid it is to cencor a kids show because some people are complaining.
LOLOL I hope this is real! I love being ripped on. My friends and I rip on each other about everything! Who cares if they make fun of us? Who cares if they make us "look" bad. It will still be funny to see how bronies look from their prospective. Some people may hate this show with a passion, but their ability to rip on everything possible and make it hilarious for the past 15 years is awesome!
but the result was the same. Ginger has become really common, regardless of who it was first directed to.
Just realised that there's this guy called Dave Polsky who wrote a couple of things for MLP, and He also wrote for South Park. It's quite possible that this episode is on our side. However, I've just looked on the crew for this episode and I can't find this guys name there. But there are only two names there anyway so... I dunno, just throwig it out there. But I think there's a good chance this episode is on our side! Edit; He only wrote two, mind, and they were in season 1. Still think there's a good chance though!
Since it's going to be about the boys becoming bronies, I think it'll be positive toward bronyism overall. But since it's South Park, they'll take it to crazy extremes in an awesome way. In the end, I think the moral will be that it's okay to like something like ponies if you're not insane about it, or something. But we'll see.
I'm pretty sure it's a myth, the writers of SP don't release synopsi that early (my browser says that's wrong I'm not sure what the correct plural of synopsis is) because they tend to write the episodes a week before they air. I still think it'd be funny if the episode focused on all of the main characters becoming bronies, with Kyle and Stan being actually ordinary ones, while Cartman is an extremely zealous one who completely misses the point of the show and Randy is a clopper (it kind of fits him considering the fetishes he's shown in past episodes). The message would be that the fandom has it's good parts and its bad parts. Also in the end Stan sends a friendship report to President Obama.
Just remember, this is a comedy show with some hidden, important message in a lot of shows. Take the Wal*Mart episode. They said that desire was the true reason why Wal*Mart was so successful. The real reason why Wal*Mart did so well so because of us. There are a few other examples like this but I can't think of anymore straight away. Anyway, I think that this my have an important message about friendship or prejudice.
This. If SP make Ponies cool that's awesome, if they don't then so be it we got a mention and any press is good for spreading the word about MLP.
