So anybody seen this flick yet? If so whaddya think, love it, hate it, apathetic towards it, etc?

Personally i really enjoyed it, not only was it closer to the original comics, but I found the rest of the cast an improvement over the Rami trilogy, sans Aunt may (seriously the new Aunt May can't hold a candle to Rosemary Harris, who imo was perfect for the role.)

But yeah aside from that and the drawn out pacing, it was a solid flick, defiantly something i'd recommend seeing!

I thought it was quite meh in my opinion. I wrote about it in one of my blogs here, and I couldn't shake the feeling that it was trying to be so gritty and "real", like Christopher Nolan's Batman movies.

There were so good parts, and the actors were quite good, but the villain was sort of....mishandled. I guess they wanted us to feel sorry for him, but then he went Lizard Hitler on New York, so that didn't work. :p

I don't have any intention on seeing it, at all. Honestly, I'm not a big fan of most superhero movies in general (except for The Incredibles and Tim Burton's Batman). I mean while a lot of them are fun and all, most of them just don't seem to appeal to me as much as they do to others.

It was decent. I miss the more innocent feel of the first Raimi film, but Garfield was pretty good for this more violent take on the origin of Spiderman. The action scenes are a definite improvement. I don't think this film did as good a job of explaining Parker's gradual transformation into Spiderman, though, despite the padded length.

Honestly, I was too busy being distracted by a lot of nit-picky little things. Don't you love how this apparently superadvanced biotech firm doesn't have security cameras watching the doors, for instance, and how just anyone can enter a laboratory by playing a little puzzle game to unlock the door? There wasn't even a card key or retinal scan required.

Love interest was obnoxious, but I guess that is par the course for most superhero films.

I saw it and absolutely LOVED this movie. Everything about it to me was just awesome.

You are supposed to be sympathetic. Curt Conner is a pitiable soul indeed. The Lizard is a separate entity from Conner, though. All Conner wants is to solve the problems of disease and heal his arm. The Lizard, though, wants to turn everybody into a creature like him. This, however, is not what Conner wants at all, but when he turns into the Lizard, his personality is taken over by the Lizard's.

My brother has read all 600 something spiderman comics and he's seen the movie. I'll see what he thinks and post it.

I'm still on spiderman 33, only 600 more to go.

True, with the Lizard and Conner being separate and all. I just think that this film's version of Conner was a little odd. Raimi's take on Conner, while minor, felt right to me. In this one, he seemed a bit more...rough. I'm not sure how to explain it, I think it was the actor that made me think this version of Curt wasn't always good-intentioned.

Issue 690 comes out this Wensday I believe and they'll be to issue 700 by December. And thats just ASM, theres also Peter Parker, Spectacular, Sensational, Web Of, etc. Yeah reading through a comic book series that has been around for 50 years can be quite a hefty task. I wish you luck my friend. And hope you and your brother enjoy the movie.

Also Nostalgia Critic put up his Bum Review/Review of the film finally. For those interested heres a link.
