The second half of series 6 (or should that be series 32? :p) starts this Saturday - dunno when those elsewhere will get to see it though.

Will anypony else here be watching?

Edit: I should specify that it's starting in the UK this Saturday.

When my American friends have to pay for each of Doctor Who: The Adventure Games, I've no right to download them off the BBC for free. [IMG] It's morally wrong, that's what it is!

Isn't that why we pay a license fee though?

Mmmm.... not - that I know of... computer games don't count towards TV licences, do they?

Technically, just about everything the BBC - Note, not BBC America or their other international wings - is funded, at least partly by the licence fee. which is why things like the iPlayer, and other things, are locked to ip addresses from outside of the UK. It's in their mandate :p

Oh! I see. Uh - don't the US have to pay for a licence as well, or...?

Unlike the UK, the US does not have a compulsory licence fee. They get various PBS stations instead. Which are sorta like the BBC, except they've got no money :p. Most, as far as I know, get cable and satellite subscriptions - of which BBC America is one of the many channels they can subscribe to.

Actually, I can't afford cable, so I get nothing. Have to watch everything off the internets. I'm quite behind on Doctor Who, too. I imagine they're up someplace, but I haven't found them.

Any ways, yes, we don't have licensing fees, but we have to pay through the nose for cable, or satellite, which isn't much fun. Personally, I'd like it if they went ala carte, as some people here suggest, so I can pick and choose the channels I want. But of course, the cable companies wouldn't make money that way. So, it's either $25 dollars for channels I can get with some rabbit ears for free, or to get BBCAmerica and the Hub would cost more like $90 a month. Sigh.

    Good thing for YouTube.

    AND BACK ON TOPIC

I might be able to see it but my clan has a MASSIVE drop party planned on rs that day and I managed to snatch my self a key role because of my silver crown

In related discussion I don't like this series as much as the others (mainly the David ones).

David Tenant is/always will be my favorite doctor. He was brilliant at it. Matt is pretty good too, and I can't wait for more episodes. :D

    Um, yes, heh-heh! Silly sidetracks!

I suppose Tom Baker will still by my favorite Doctor. He was the one I was introduced to, lo, those many yeas ago. On a related note, I have noticed that people seem to like the first doctor they watch. My wife's first experience with Doctor Who was the 5th Doctor, and that's her favorite. A friend of mine from Australia started watching way back when the third Doctor was on, and that's *his* favorite!

    Anyone else experience this?

It's probably got something to do with familiarity.

My favourite is Jon Pertwee, the third doctor :)

Sorry for the double post, but I wanted to give my thoughts on the new episode.

The start of the second half of the series was.. interesting. Very random, but quite funny as well.

I'm gonna give the episode a: [IMG]

Next weeks episode looks very interesting, those monsters look positively creepy!

    Yes! Whoovians on Everpony!

I love Doctor Who, but my college doesn't get BBC America so I'll have to find a way to get it online (suggestions would be appreciated haha).

My favorite Doctor is David Tennant, but I tend to like Matt Smith's episodes more. I think Matt got better written episodes, and they build on each other so beautifully.

I think my favorite episode is the Matt Smith Weeping Angels two parter and David Tennant's Silence in the Library two parter.

Though I'll love Russell T Davies forever, for bringing the Doctor back to our screens. He wasn't exactly the best writer, and certainly not a patch on Steven Moffat.

    Doctor Who thread? :DDDDDDDDD

    ...

    >mfw it's a not very active thread

    Oh well.

As for favourite Doctor, well, I'm pretty I have to go with Eleven. Nine was my first (although before that I had seen one or two episodes of the classic series) and was totally badass; Ten was awesome (his final line in The End of Time Part 2...still a massive tearjerker for me); but when it comes down to it, I just love Eleven forever and ever. <3 Series 5 was fantastic and Series 6 so far has been amazing. Last weeks episode should have aired earlier in the series (as was originally planned), though. Oh well.

Also, I haven't had the chance to see the most recent episode. ;_; (It does air here in Canada, of course, I just missed it...)
