Japanese. It's an anime series re-imagining that is supposed to be more faithful to the original manga. Of course, it won't take long for fansub groups to translate the episodes once they begin airing. Heck, maybe it'll even get hosted by a site like Crunchyroll. EDIT: Is it just me, or is Japan getting reboot fever? Recently we've seen a reboot of Neon Genesis Evangelion in the form of new movies, a reboot of Berserk in the form of new movies (at least one so far, with others presumably coming), a reboot of the Lupin the Third franchise which is much more faithful to the high level of raunch in the original manga, a re-release of the already recently released TV series Madoka Magica in the form of new movies, multiple reboots of Rurouni Kenshin, and now this.
Huh ok does it really not come out till next summer though because to quote Applebloom "I want it now!"
Agreed! ^ I am so excited for the new manga! Naoko Takeuchi will be heavily involved in the anime and it has to follow the manga because Naoko is very strict about the rights to Sailor Moon.
It's supposed to be released simultaneously all over the world at the same time. I hope funimation gets the rights because I know they wouldn't mess it up.
Funimation is awesome not only did they make my favorite anime ever Dragon Ball Z and original Dragon Ball plus Dragon Ball GT and Dragon Ball Z Kai but they also made Yu Yu Hakusho too.
Honestly I would be in the camp that disagrees with this statement, now from a business perspective Funimatoin is deffinantly on top, but in the old fashioned realm of Quality, they acquire alot of really just well, arguably bad shows, I realize thats not soley their fault, Japan is pumping out one genaric LCD pandering ecchi/harem/moe, etc after another, but it seems most of the stuff Funimation & Sentai snatch up is Otaku/weeaboo fodder, which while thats not all bad mind you, does leave a sour taste in ones mouth. And also speaking personally as A moderator on the Funimation forums, the website is horrinuds! The forums are extremly slow, and half the time the video feed/stream messes up whenever you try to play something, we get at least a dozen or so complaints a day from new members asking when the site will be fixed, and despite the fact they Admins have been stating for months they have been working to improve the side nothing has changed. But ahh yeah, back to anime, I can agree Funimation is the best for providing Dubbed anime at an affordable price, but aside from that, the company doesn't do much for me these days sadly, but thats all due to my own personal preference of course. Outside of afew studios, like Gainax, Madhouse, and the Noitamina Block, I prefere older anime over modern stuff, I prefere my japanese animation to be about giant robots, martial artists on steroids, and magical girls, not genaric anime gals that look like their made out of flan or have boobs bigger then their heads, but ahh yeah thats just me. Personally Discotek is my fav anime distributor, lots of good classics & cheesy but fun stuff from them. As for the topic of Sailor Moon, Funimation has been trying to get the original for years but hasn't had much luck, however I do expect them to be able to get the upcoming remake, I can tell you for a fact they want Sailor Moon, weather they will get either the 1992 or 2013 series is all up to how well negotiations with TOEI go.
I just want to see Sailor Moon again personally I don't care if Funimation Entertainment or Viz Media gets the show I just want to see Sailor Moon again.
VIZ wouldn't go after it because its not a Sheishusa Product, its Kodansha, so it would have to be Funimatoin, Sentai, Discotek, or Nozomi/Rightstuff. But yeah if you want a nice uncut dub, Funimation is your best bet, Sentai is a maybe, since they only dub some of the stuff they get.
@DBZPony.......................................Really!? Sentai is a COMPANY Sentai Filmworks is one of the many anime distributors in the U.S. They were previously known as ADV Films, but split into multiple subsidiaries after the main company/firm went bankrupt or what not. Super Sentai is also a japanese term for superhero team shows like Power Rangers and what not.
....ahh THEY ARE MAGICAL GIRL ANIME. But ahh... yeah technically Sailor Moon is both Magical Girl & Sentai, but ahh..not to sound rude, are you clearly understanding what i'm typing, i'm not sure you are, I was mostly talking about a companies that distribute anime in the U.S. Sentai gets all genres, not just ones its named after, lol. and I was just being nerdy with that last bit of info, thats my bad I guess. But ahh yeah, umm, again, totally not trying to be rude, but ahh, ANN, Google, & wikipedia are great places to go and brush up on info about the companies that distribute anime in the states.
O.M.G I love sailor moon,I do not have much videos for the series in which they fight "Witches 5" and the heart crushers.Although that is only the 4 tapes I have,I only have one where rini meets pegasus, and they fight these shadows that go to a physical form.It is the first one in the series too,but other then those videos I got nothing sailor moon related, now I will list my favorite senshi. From favorite to least favorite. 1.Sailor Uranus/Amara(She definitely has to go on top XD). 2.Sailor Neptune/Michelle. 3.Sailor Mercury/Amy. 4.Sailor Mini Moon/Rini. That is all for now, hope you reply back.
My fave was always Sailor Jupiter/Lita. Subsequently, my fave PPG was Buttercup and my fave pony is Dashie so I guess I have a thing for brash chicks with raspy voices.
I haven't watched this show in ages, but it used to be one of my favorite anime's back on the old Toonami back when Moltar ran the show.
