The allusions made in this show just get funnier and funnier. I enjoyed this episode thoroughly, but boy did I get jealous when the PepperxShivers ship fuel popped up. Really jealous.

Also, as for me randomly becoming a guest on the LPS forums, there is a funny story behind that. I got really bored and wondered if I could restore my account after "deleting" it, since I interpreted it as "deactivating." Couldn't restore it and forgot about it for a while, might rejoin later, but god am I stupid.

Anywho, season finale in 2 days. Holy crap.

Yeah, me too. I really am looking forward to the Finale. Even though, there's a part of me not looking forward to the Finale, but that's simply because I am a very greedy person who can't wait until December or whenever the new season will come out. ;)

The song made me tear up it's a very good sad song just like with I Have To Find A Way plus I found it kind of funny that in the video Sunil blames Russell for Blythe leaving to go to Fashion Camp plus i'll already know how to sing the song word for word on tomorrow's episode because i've been watching and listening to the song over and over again this morning and now I can sing it word for word.

Yeah, it kinda makes me wonder will she be back at the Pet Shop or will she be at camp still?Truth be told I hope they don't put her back at LPS in the first episode of season 2. It should be a 2 parter hopefully. Call me weird but I kinda wanna see what this Madison girl can screw up. It looks to me like she's not gonna work out so good there.

Madison: (As Blythe was leaving on her way to camp) Which one's Blythe?

Yeah I get the feeling that Madison is going to mess up badly at her temporary Summer job also even if she doesn't return on the Season 2 premire I think we all realise that Blythe is going to return eventually she's not going to stay away from LPS permanently.

That would make a good montage.

Blythe: So, how did it work out with Madison?
Mrs. Twombly: Well... *flashback of things going wrong*... It was interesting.

Hellos, thought I'd throw in my two bits. First off though, I rarely get bothered by people disliking things I like (I wouldnt be watching MLP otherwise) especially in regards to a show on a childrens channel, but I am a weebit peeved at some of the opinions centred around LPS, because I find them to be baseless. I'm not attacking anyone, I'm simply refuking comments made in this thread. I am, of course, defending LPS...

For example, the fact that its apparently a shameless knock off of MLP. This is an incredible falsehood. Granted, the first two episodes are definately pretty low tier and are most likely following the template of MLP, and I can respect that many a brony were turned off after episode 1. In MLP we are introduced the characters through twilights interaction, whereas in LPS we're told through a very standard song who and what the characters are, and yeah thats pretty piss poor and I lend that down to the fact that they were trying to fit in too much into one episode.
Like another poster has said though, after the pilot episodes; LPS becomes unique. In my opinion, btw, the MLP pilot episodes narratives were superb but otherwise the plot was just as contrived as LPS's.

Saying that 'using the same VAs and animators and Ingram etc. was to grab the typical brony' is an asbolutely ABSURD statement. The world doesnt revolve around bronies, these people have jobs dammit. They are being paid to work in the same studio on two different projects, thats called being EFFICIENT.
Even calling out Zoe's hair style is a stretch considering her personality, if anything this just tells me that a certain character designers likes that certain hair colouring and likes to include it in his/her work. The game company Blizzard has a bad**** Jamaican-accented character in all their games, thats a quirk, and if anything why would trying to appeal to bronys a bad thing to bronies? That said, the characters just cant be compared to the ponies, these are all called archetypes remember? With MLP they took a usually antagonised archetype in Rarity and made her a hero, LPS does the same with theirs (i.e Vinnie)

Ok, the above arguments are under the concensus that there are people intentionally knocking the show under false pretenses, I admit that the first two episodes arent quite MLP's pilots but the show becomes unique after that, with episode 4 being one of the stronger episodes (although personally I like the ones that take place in the daycamp). In defense of LPS, a lot of things are dropped from the pilot, such as the 'school-bullies' were changed just to be a niche pair of rich-girls who, due to misinterpretting Blythe, see her as an enemy. This is further shown in how they themselves are targets of bullying. By extension to their change, their father is warped from an uncaring father into a man who is trying to ween his daughters into a more dignified, self-respectful lifestyle. They are so bad at being bad though that its funny.
Also, to make a stab at MLP: atleast in LPS's pilot you can see the effect of their ending in future episodes, whereas in MLP its "We saved Equestria!...I think..." "Lol who are you again?"

    Now to deal with comparisons...

The songs. The songs in LPS are just severely more ambitious than MLP, I'm willing to state this objectively. The MLP songs are great of course, but LPS delves into niches that you can tell Daniel Ingram is totally having fun with. For example: Blues, Jersey Boy, Techno, even Bollywood! The LPS characters tend to fantasise a lot too, so you'll see the characters dress up as the respective music genre complete with a stylised music video. There are also songs that play homage to popular songs adults know, like MC Hammer's Hammertime and Michael Jackson Thriller.

MLP is praised for being able to appeal to a wider fanbase through references adults could understand whilst still ganering a chuckle from the children. Other than the above music mentioned, there are also some less subtle references like a Star Trek scene (going as far as to mock each of the main characters from it) and also a certain popular scene from Pulp Fiction, you know the one...
LPS alsp deals with mature themes, such as dating, and I dont mean the stupid high school crud; the main human girls father is single, there is also a row of borderline suggestive flirting between two teachers at Blythe's school.
One of the latter episodes has a pseudo-gory scene (complete with blood) at the end of it, I'm actually a lil shocked they allowed it and I'm glad they did because it made for a great punchline.

The agenda: Both shows have basic themes but express them well, MLP's agenda is friendship, LPS's agenda is about working hard to achieve your ambitions. All the pets want to be something, and they don't just sit around hoping it will happen, they put time and effort into what they do. Vinnie is a great example, he absolutely loves all forms of dance but you can see he is definately no prodigy, even being outright shunned by judges, so it makes his enthusiasm all the more meaningful. Another character is Minka who is into making abstract art, however there is the temptation to sell out and draw what people tell her to draw; this tempation is one she has to fight.

Status Quo: With the exception of parts of season 3 the finale in particular, MLP always reverts back to the status quo. The cutie mark crusaders will never get their marks, Fluttershy will never learn to stick up for herself, Rainbow Dash will never become a wonderbolt etc. etc. (although the season 3 finale has raised hopes). Yes, we do love the characters just the way they are but c'mon after 65 episodes its time for some development. In LPS there is the sense that things are evolving. We see one lady in episode 1 wanting to buy property and in episode 15 she finally succeeds and it becomes a new frequent location for the characters. The season finale of LPS has pretty much flagged a major change in dynamics given that a particular character who is important to the daycamp is now gone during the break between season 1 and 2.(not to mention the reason they left is a character development thang).

Side-characters: Okay yeaaah MLP has side characters because we created the fanon for them. Otherwise the mane6 are circle-j*rks plain and simple, the only reason they became friends is because IT WAS PROPHERSISED! (yes it was, remember the mural? Even the CMC'd friendship was prophersised dammit!). The fact that the pets each have their own ambitions is already a reason they shouldnt have time for each other and there are even events where the clashes in priorties cause conflict, but they'll still try to be friends because eachother is all they have.
In anycase, there are several guest-role pets in LPS and the pets act genuinely excited to meet them (and unlike the pilot these characters are introduced on our terms, no through someone saying "oh you like food thats your main trait lolol"). These pets are able to contribute to an episode and its message without the episode having to revolve around them (e.g episode 8 with the parrot). My personal favourite has to be Stoner Cat (i.e Sugar Sprinkles...dont pretend she didnt mix cocaine in with the sugar sack).

Maaan this is too much for just a childrens show, but in anycase you dont have to like LPS but you're knocking it all for the wrong reasons and if you were put off the pilot (I was for quite a long time) then still give it another shot or atleast understand that it doesnt represent the show as it is now.
Maybe whilst you're waiting for that next MLP episode and you're on youtube you could watch an ep of LPS, its the same people because they know what works afterall, they aren't bloody stupid and they arent mocking bronies and they should feel insulted that many bronies seem to think so.

There are many shows that wish they could have the level of fandom MLP has, so give your little sister a break.

p.s I resent anyone who has the audacity to put a terrible horrendous show like family guy on the same league as MLPFiM.

I've only watched around three episodes(and not for a while), but I quite like it. Wouldn't exactly call myself a fan though.
